End of year record.

I'm more optimistic than 9-7. If our team does not become healthier by then, maybe they'll at least gell better. I can see us beating the Colts considering their defense and I can see us beating the Broncos considering their offense. I think we'll go 10-6 most likely, though if we keep playing like we are 8-8 is not out of the question.

I was 10-6 in my preseason guess, and it still looks good for 10-6 to me.

If they knock off Baltimore next week to get to 5-3 and 3-0 in the division, people will come in off the ledge.

I would rather be where we are than where Pittsburgh is at this point...

The Raiders are glad they are where they are than where the Steelers are at this point too.

10-6 still looks possible to me. We're not playing incredibly great right now... but I think we're improving weekly. I believe we can beat Baltimore twice. They are completely one-sided... and we've proven we can put up points on them. Palmer seems to have their number.

We can certaibly beat Cleveland, Oakland and Pittsburgh, and SD won't have any LB's.. if we win those, we could still lose to the Saints, Broncos and Colts, and finish 10-6... and that should win this division.

If we lose a game to Baltimore, we'll be in a hole (Damn... that Tampa loss killed us). Even still, we haven't been getting beaten badly. The N.E. game is the only one where we looked pathetic. I still think we're the best team in this division. Whether that means anything once the playoffs get here remains to be seen... but I still think we're a playoff team.

@Baltimore - L (could go either way)

San Diego - W

@New Orleans - W

@Cleveland - W

Baltimore - W

Oakland - W

@Indianapolis - W

@Denver - L

Pittsburgh - W

11-5

So I think that many of these could go either way, with maybe the exception of the Cleveland and Oakland games. And now that we lost one and Balti won @ NO I think we might surprise them.

Worst case is 10-6 in my opinion, but we could wind up 9-7

So I guess my answer is somewhere between 9-7 and 11-5.

But we could win out too, 13-3! Yeah Baby, Yeah! :bengal:

:D

The team needs to get on a roll. If they can beat the Broncos and Chargers that should get us in a wildcard position if the Bengals lose to the Ravens.

@Balt - Loss

Chargers - Win

@Saints - Win

@Clev - Win

Balt - Win

Oakl - Win

@Indy - Loss

@Den - Loss

Pitt - Win

That get's us to 10-6. Assuming the Broncos win their division, but the Bengals will have beaten the Chargers and Chiefs for the tie breaker for the Wildcard.

Pat's - Win their Division

Colts - Win their Division

Broncos - Win their division

*Ravens - Win the division because their schedule isn't as tough as Cincy's

Wildcard - Chargers

Wildcard - Bengals

This is if the Bengals lose Sunday. The cool thing is that if they can get into the playoffs they have a punchers chance due to their offense which should get better with continuity. Once again though the freakin' defense isn't championship caliber.

The Steelers would loooooooooove to knock Cincy out of the playoffs though.

Trying to be rational about this, here we go:

  1. @Balt Loss Defense is on-track, and offense will not kill them.
  2. SD Loss Can we say stop the run? No.
  3. @NO Win Maybe, although they could lose here too.
  4. @CV Win It is Cleveland.
  5. BT Win We may take one.
  6. Ok Win It is Oakland.
  7. @IN Loss It is Indy. Our offense cannot win a shootout this year.
  8. @DV Loss Our offense will crumble.
  9. PT Loss They may have righted their ship by then, and if so are a better team.

That brings it to 8-8 with no playoffs, obviously.

I am not jumping off the bandwagon here, as I still will root for this team and be incredibly happy if they over-achieve. But, based on this team, this year, I think this is not overly pessimistic. If we are very lucky, or somehow miraculously start playing up to last year's level on offense, then maybe we get 2 more for 10-6. This would be optimistic.

We held Atlanta to 70 fewer rushing yards than they are averaging. The run defense is not that bad. The reason we lost to Atlanta is because Vick played out of his mind. We can beat San Diego. They will be without ther best 2 defenders, and they have shown enough weaknesses that we should be able to beat them in our house.

I'm not sure why we are so willing to just give the division to the Ravens. Are they really playing that well? The answer is no. They have a good defense, but their offense still stinks. That plays to our strength. Baltimore is not a powerhouse. N.O. gave that game to them. They lost to Carolina at home. They got absoletely owned by Denver, and they almost lost to Cleveland. They are improved from last year... but all we have to do is get on a roll, and we are the better team. Call me an optimist (I've been called worse). I just can't drink the Baltimore kool-aid. I think we're better than them.

I have us beating them once. I have not drunk the Raven's koolaid, but I also am not going to drink the Bengal's koolaid either. I wish it was not so. And, of course, I don't know shi#, just like everyone else, so who knows.

I'm sweating the Ravens for a couple of reasons.

1. They are hyped to beat Cincy, because they have lost the last 3. Brian Billick runs the offense now and the Ravens were built to beat the Bengals. This is their biggest game of the year, and the Bengals have had a few big games this year.

2. The Bengal schedule is harder than the Ravens.

The good news is that Palmer has won 3 straight against them ands seems to have figure them out. They still need their mojo back though.

This may be the most intelligent post I've seen on this site. Very good job of being unbiased.

Honestly, the Bengals are a good team, but you're at least a year and some defensive improvements away from being legitimate Super Bowl contenders.

OK, Mr. Intelligent Post, why don't you provide us with another of your profound prediction lists for the Steelers? I'm not saying that I completely disagree with the above post, but I think 8-8 is a 'worst-case scenario'. I think they pull some things together and finish 10-6 ... but fine.

So ... you think the above post is intelligent, as you say. Funny how it ends with an 8-8 record. Let's see ... the Urine sits at 2-5. 9 games to go. What say you about the remaining 9 games? The above post shows a 4-5 stretch for a team that currently sits at 4-3. Something tells me that you will suggest the Urine will go better than 4-5 down the stretch. Oh, but that will still be intelligent. I really want to hear your new predictions for the Urine just for a good laugh. Your last set was about as off-base as is humanly possible. What are they?

Are you a s**tsburgh Troll? Take it to the Troll Forum where you belong, since I notice that is where you post the most by far... or did you just mistakenly mis-click on this forum? :P

Somehow you missed my 9-7 which matches what you happen to think? Or is that your selective reading COKE-BOTTLE GLASSES?

I supose PissBarf and the Barfburgers are going to win out now and go 11-5? Good Luck. With THAT showing (if you can call that a showing :lmao: ) vs OAKLAND (only the WORST TEAM in the NFL) you managed 13 points and LOST the GAME? Go cry in your piss in your own forum.

:cheers:

Uh thanks but no thanks for the compliment. My thoughts on the Steelers are 7-9, as follows:

  • DV L
  • NO L
  • CV W
  • BT L
  • TB W
  • CV W
  • CP L
  • BT W
  • CN W
