Brightside from the loss - merged

I know its hard to go looking for a bright side BUT

without Odell, Pollack, Levi, et al. we are still tied for a wild card spot and playing to tie for the division lead next week.

Now if we can remember we have a pretty good running back and keep our defense off the field a little bit we'll be fine.

Damn cant think of a brightside...

There's never a real bright side in a loss...but after having a few hours to chew this one over, I can say that this one hurts the least of the bengals' three L's, at least to me. The Bengals didn't get blown out and embarassed (like in the Pats game) and they didn't have the game arguably turn on a blown call (as in Tampa).

What they were was simply the second-best team on the field today, by a very slender margin. They played poorly on the offensive line, in the defensive secondary, and tossed in a special teams blunder for good measure...and yet they were in it until the last play, and the Falcons escaped with a bare 2-point win.

Well...props to Atlanta for ekeing one out. And the Bengals get what they deserve for not executing on any oe of a dozen or two plays that could have swung this game the other way: a must-win in Baltimore next week. 5-3 overall and 3-0 in the division at the half way point keeps them in good (not great, but good) shape; 4-4 and 2-1 (with that loss to the division-leading team) and we can break out the Yellow Pages and start looking for a singer under "Ladies, Fat."

I can draw a few positives out.

-- Despite struggles on the o-line, the Bengals did put up 27 points. That's the most since week 3, when they hung 28 on Pitt.

-- No new injuries.

I'll say! After having the ball ONLY 23 minutes, to put up 27 points says the offense is coming along. Now if we had only had the ball for about 90 more seconds!

Oh well, at least the Steelers LOST to the Raiders! :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

:pitsux:

There are no moral victories in the NFL.

Its time to stop talking about Odell and Pollack. Both will probably never play for the Bengals again.

We need more LB's to replace them. We need a pass rusher. We need better depth at safety.

This game really showcased our need for a punt returner!!
