Kaesviharn lucky

Was reading the enquirer today and there was an article posted in the middle of the sport pages about kaesviharn being lucky on his interception in the endzone. Keyshawn, delhomme and apperantly their coach said Kaesviharn actually blew his coverage because they never saw him covering anybody on film like that. Personally I think if thats the case Delhomme might possibly be the most ignorant QB in the NFL to throw it right to him...whats do you guys think?

Yeah, he was lucky and I have more letters in my last name than KK does.

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Look at the film and replays...

The receives split, the DB comes over to take the underneath and KK goes high with K Johnson. Looks like some disguise to me which worked to PERFECTION! Delhome threw the ball, thinking it was blown coverage and we get the INT!

Booya!

If you read the postgame comments KK actually said that they got burned on the way they covered that play before and they knew someone would try it again based on watching the film. So they decided the next time they saw it, they would make react differently anticapting that fact, and voila: we get a pick. Luck? Well, luck does favor the prepared, but I think you can call it great coaching.

(BTW, I've been thinking about our coaching, and it seems to me we have gems with our DBs, WR's, RB's, and QB's, but or O and D line and Tight End coaches leaves me less than satisfied.

Gee, Delhomme, Keyshawn and their coaches all say it was a lucky play....must be the truth. Just like everything Marvin says in his weekly press conference.

It smells a bit like everybody trying to bail Keyshawn out for having made the wrong read in going over the top. I would love to have heard what Delhomme said to him on the sideline.

Exactly. Right after the play the announcers made note of the fact that the WR almost always makes his break infront of the defender, so that they can better prevent the defender from reaching the pass, but Keyshawn chose to break behind K2....where Johnson admits he lost track of him completely. I watched a video clip where Delhomme defended Keyshawn's decision to break as deep as possible, claiming the play was designed that way, but you've got to question that due to the fact that the play had no real chance of working when run that way. And as someone else pointed out in another thread, K2 was so on top of the play from the start that he had the presence of mind to get both feet in bounds while making the pick.

Bottom Line: A great play by a defender who outsmarted people who don't have their ego in check, and aren't willing to admit that their mistakes cost their team a critical game.

Who cares? We won. They didn't. If KK was out of position, Delhomme still should have been able to see him there. If it was a disguise, it worked.

Regardless... good play by us, bad play by them. Luck? Sure... there's always luck involved. I don't much care.

 Here. Here. I totally agree, luck or not we won! :D

is it really that hard to believe that KK blew his coverage? not a big deal, he still had the awareness to make the play, but come on, it wouldnt be the first time he blew his coverage

i dont really see why its being discussed so much by players and coaches though, that kinda stuff happens all the time

I gotta say that I can honestly see it either way. KK said he anticipated the play. He dropped off his original receiver, and Deltha ran over to him (I couldn't tell who it was). KK stayed on the inside like he knew Keyshawn was going to come across the middle of the field.

The Panthers say that he wasn't covering anyone, and fell into coverage by luck. I can't say they are wrong, because KK had his back to Keyshawn when he broke inside. Had he been running an out route, it was 6 points. Deltha had already come into coverage on the under receiver. If KK was anticipating the play, and guessed wrong, we'd be talking about how terrible he is.

I guess this is why Bengalszone has a love hate relationship with him. It was the same thing with the Steelers INT, when Ben complained that "it was like they knew it was coming." KK has a tendency to anticipate plays, and twice this season he has done so correctly resulting in a huge INT. However, there are just as many times it seems like he has anticipated wrongly, and it has resulted in a big play for the offense.

I guess you just take the good with the bad with a guy like KK... and this week it was the good.

K2 is just reading right and making big plays. He looks much sharper and driven this year than he did at the end of last. He had a big play to on a 3-2 from around midfield on the Panthers ist drive of the game when he cannon shot himself into the gap on a stretch run by Foster and absolutely blew it up forcing the hard edge cutback for Caleb and B-Rob to mop up. Dude's just playing good ball right now.

Great video there TDB !!! You can clearly see KK saw the other WR was covered by Deltha and went back to cover K. Johnson. You won't hear me say this much, but GREAT PLAY BY KK !!!

WHODEY !!!

I agree - I'd like to see an endzone shot, but how did Jake NOT see KK back there. Since Me-shawn was the ONLY reciever in the back of the endzone, it would have been stupid for KK not to cover the post pattern. Jake NEVER looked him 'off'.
