Jonboat
Is anyone else sick of seeing KK whiff on tackles that lead to big runs? This is the 2 week in a row where it appeared he took a bad angle to get the RB which lead to a big gain. Jones played a hell of a game on ST I'd like to see him get a shot @ #2 . Thank god we should be getting DJax back hopefully he stays healthy.

Tasher
KK is serviceable as long as it is in situational situations. Just don't release him and resign Oh, I can't Hit a Lady. Phillip Buchannon is available I hear...
derekshank
We're all glad that Dexter will be back, along with Simmons and Jeanty. Our defense might actually resemble what we once hoped for from our defense. I'm convinced the D will be decent this year. We just need to get healthy... on both sides of the ball. 3-2 isn't the end of the world, but with our schedule, if we don't get healthy quick, we could be in trouble. agreen_112
Djax and the defense is the last thing that we should be worried about, b/c everyone should already know S. Smith and Keyshawn are going to have a field day on our defense. What we need to worry about is Carolina's D-line going up against our banged up O-line. I can see Peppers and Rucker with like 3 sacks each..
Kazkal
Um actually =P our secondary would be something praise about if they would just start JJ instead of tory....i woulden't mind seeing tory on keyshawn...if I knew keyshawn wouldent break 10 tackles lol...I could see your argument if we planned on having LB's cover steve. Both old and slow. Let Delhomme to drop back, drink a beer, and 5 minutes later throw that 10 yard out to Keyshawn as he trudges downfield. See if Tory can jump it. Good times all around. CBin2k7
No matter what, Steve Smith is gonna get off. The way the Panthers use him is something the Bengals should emulate with CJ. He lines up outside, in the slot, they put him in motion, always looking for mismatches. This is a game where the Safeties are going to have to play solid ball. Keep Steve Smith in front of them.Against the Ravens, the Panthers had Smith lined up in the slot and he scored on a long play because Ed Reed got caught jumping another route instead of staying in his 2 deep over the top with help for Rolle. There is no way that the Bengals can have Tory James anywhere near Steve Smith. BengalByTheBay
There is no way that the Bengals can have Tory James anywhere near Steve Smith.Although I gotta agree with this, based on the number of different looks he gets from the Panther's offense, it's inevitable. This is shaping up to be a huge safety responsibility game. While you won't catch me joining in on the KK bashing, I will totally agree that it is critical that DJax plays in this game. Stripes
*Cough* START JOSEPH *Cough*It'll be good to have Dexter back for sure. The Bengals will have to stop DeShaun Foster to have any chance in this game, and his return will make that order a little less tall.If Tory lines up against Steve Smith, or even Drew Carter, at any point during the game, we might as well just call a timeout and have the guys upstairs add six to Carolina's score. CBin2k7
I'm not so sure Tory wouldn't get beat deep by Keyshawn trying to jump routes. Carolina's running game is really an afterthought, they have that big play ability with Smith and he finds a way to get it done every week. Jonboat
Im pretty tired of seeing KK getting picks too..hes a sound knowledgable backup I don't know he just seems to have 1-2 bad plays a game. I think Tory ,while he hasn't exactly looked great esp. tackling, has taken some heat on a couple long passes that appeared like he dropped coverage expecting help over the top. Looks to me sometimes KK may be a step or two late getting there to help out,I'm not positive who was at fault on those but I'd guess Tory wasn't, just because of his experience. I just thought Jones looked pretty good on ST appears to be a good tackler. Hopefully this is a mute point with Dexter coming back.I agree with Derek I think getting Simmons,Dexter,Jeanty should be a big boost to the D. I'm also afraid Agreen maybe right about the Oline but that's all the more reason the D has to play well, keep it close & give us a chance. derekshank
Dallas held Steve smith to 1 catch for 16 yards last season. the Cowboys don't have a superior secondary. So lets mimick their gameplan, whatever it was. Steve Smith has a knack for having huge games against really good defenses, but poor defenses are somehow able to slow him up.Last year he had 4 catches for 34 yards against New England, and their injury ridden secondary, 2 catches 12 yards against Green Bay, 3 catches 34 yards against the Jets, and 3 catched 55 yards against Buffalo... but 14 catches for 169 yards against Chicago. He's stoppable... just like Chad has been. The Steelers had Ike Taylor follow Chad around the entire game last year, and he always had safety help. I say we do something similar. Put either Deltha or Joseph on him, have that guy chase him around the entire game, and always have safety help... preferably not a guy who tends to make coverage errors, or takes bad angles like KK tends to do. We need Dexter back for this one.
