Jeanty, Dexter downgraded to doubtful

Per Mark Curnutte's blog.

Looks like another week of "stiff arm specials" from Caleb and KK getting run over by a Cadillac.

Ugh.

I think I speak for everyone when I say "son..of..a...B***H!" How bad is that sprained ankle of Dexters? He's been out a month plus now.

Oh yeah - looks like Whitworth at guard and Steiny at Center Sunday, thank goodness. Sorry to all of you Guy-chick lovers out there. :)

Yikes, that experiment ended quickly. Not that I think Gay chick was good but...we do need some sort of long term plan, right? I mean Braham played college ball with Moses.

Dexter got hurt on the September 17th, so it has still been less than a month... and when it happened I thought it was broken with how bad it turned in the wrong direction. I'm just happy he's going to be able to come back... probably next week. It could have been much worse.

At least we're playing against the Bucs. They have one of the worst offenses in the NFL, and our offense should be able to handle that terrible rushing defense. We are just the more talented team right now... even with the injuries. Don't get too worked up.

If the Bengals' are the real deal - this is a game they "should" win by double digits regardless.

Just get through these next two games, even if it's a 1-1 deal, until Henry, Perry, Dex and Jeanty get back. Those four will make a noticeable difference.

I also hope the Whitworth/Steiny switch produces better results than the last two weeks.

14 of the 15 sacks this year have come with Guy-chick at center - his fault or not - that says a lot.

ESPNRadio just reported that Bengal backup QB Anthony Wright just underwent an emergency appendectomy(SP?) and will miss at least two weeks.

Yep, true dat. DJ is the #2, no #3 has been announced or planned for yet. But McNeal may get his first activation? (hoping they stick with that kid, but strictly as a WR)

3 in a row that Shula and I agreed on. That might be a first.

As far as the McNeal thing, I'm okay with him being an emergency 3rd string QB, and eventually letting D. Johnson go to free up an extra roster spot. Really... by the time you get to a #3 anyway, the gameplan goes out the window. Might as well put a guy who's a great athlete and can run around a lot in there.

For this week... I'm hoping McNeal is on the active roster, so he can get a shot at returning on special teams.

Kelly Washington or Keiwan Ratliff could also be the emergency QB, but it will probly be McNeal.

What is it with football players injuring internal organs this year. Ben gets this, Chris SImms, that Minny guy, now Anthony Wright.

Don't forget the balti player with the kidney injury...

strange year, to say the least...

Here's to Carson starting and finishing this one....No dings that take him out for a quarter or more. Guess the Bengals look pretty smart for keeping Dougie on the roster for this long....at least they got a backup QB at the ready who knows the playbook and has some NFL experience.

No Dex Jack will be a bummer....There wouldn't have been a Bengals on the field playing with more of a chip than him vs. the Bucs. Jeanty out shouldn't matter too much for this one because they need more speed at SSLB vs. Bucs and their Cadillac. Now if the Bengals can only keep that speed from getting walled and pinned, it'll help stall the Caddy provided the middle of the D does their part.
