jditty47
yes he would be good. with jackson's health and our lack of depth at safety yes he would be an upgrade. i would much rather have vincent out there for an extended time than KK. Harry J
yes he would be good. with jackson's health and our lack of depth at safety yes he would be an upgrade. i would much rather have vincent out there for an extended time than KK.That is the first thing I thought when I saw that the Bills were going to releasing after his time on the IR(weeks ago). The depth would be nice and he could pick the scheme up quick and offer some help and leadership when Dexter is not out there.
SkinneymulleT
Hell yes, if we got the cash. The depth would allow everyone to edure less wear and thus be fresher and better. And even if he is an old man he would be the 3rd best safety on our team.

volcom69
Hell yes i say go for it whats it going to hurt the def seems to need some sort of leader out there someone to light a fire under there ass cause they seem to play with no immotion right now. He seems very eager to play for another team and seems very healthy. What would u do when D Jackson is back and healtlhy again play him at some nickel or something. If i had to guess i would say i really doubt we sign him they never seem to sign to many good free agents during the season, but i bet philly is lookin at him again they always bring back players they let go. Edogger
I would have to say no I wouldn't. He has been injured a lot since being let go by Philly. Heck, he seemed to get dinged up in Philly. But to add a little veteran experience in the secondary (from the sidelines) I would think that would be a good thing, especially to be a positive role model for the team. Edogger
Isn't this same article on the Cincinnati Bengals forum? Couldn't we merge these? Just a thought...Well, here is what I put over on the other topic..."I would have to say no I wouldn't. He has been injured a lot since being let go by Philly. derekshank
There are plenty of Safeties out there if we wanted to add one. The only way we add one right now is if one of our current 3 guys goes out for an extended period of time.I've mentioned their names before, but I would prefer a guy like Lance Schulters, Keion Carpenter or Ronnie Heard. The only thing I can come up with as to why they aren't signed by some team yet is price.
AMC
Thanks but no thanks on Vincent....Roll with who we got and improve through the draft. Longer term solutions.....
Stripes
I think Vincent would be a very good pickup, but I'm not sure he'd want to be D-jack's backup, nor would he come cheap.
SkinneymulleT
Thanks but no thanks on Vincent....Roll with who we got and improve through the draft. Longer term solutions.....What do we have and what have we gotten through the draft? 1 friggin safety in 4 years...our tackling sucks, partly b/c linebacks but safety play fell off considerably when dex is out. I mean who would you rather have, dougie not so fresh or a contributing everyday player!
rwalling
if his hammie is healthy enough to go, cut daze-jones (try to get him to the PS)vincent is a better backup at safety and gives some veeteran leadership
Tasher
um theres a few nominees that i can think of. daze-jones, doug johnson, quincy wilson...Why would you cut youth for a guy in his 15th year that is close to retirement that we would get maybe one year out of? Are you forgetting about the best safety on our roster, who just happens to be injured... Tab Perry! You're right that safety hasn't really been a priority in the draft for Marvin Lewis, but this year it was becaues we picked up Dexter. We went after a decent SS in free agency so we could focus on other areas of need in the draft.Marvin does his thing, and apparently he's content with it. We haven't heard a single work of interest in adding depth at the safety position. My guess is we will start using 4th or 5th round picks on guys to develop at safety for when Dexter becomes too old. jjakq27
Anybody think picking him up would be a good idea?I am not bitter....but just out of principle I would have to say no. I believe that he "played" us twice for a bigger and better deal somewhere else. Obviously Buffalo didn't think he was worth keeping so why should we. We already have an aging corner, so having an aging safety isn't going to help. However, in fairness to him, our mistake was selected David Klingler instead of him in 1992. I don't know what the question is. He's washed up, and doesn't have the value for what we'd have to give up to get him. There are higher quality guys out there for the taking if we were interested. There are higher quality guys out there for the taking if we were interested.I'm thinkin that Marvin and the crew are pretty tight on the waiver wire and the street list that they are pretty convinced that we have the best 53- 61 with the practice squad guys. Now I would give you that Vincent might help us wim the Super Bowl IF he were replacing Jax (and maybe Madieu) if they went to IR, but not to make the team better overall. You are not going to line up Vincent as a special teams player, nor is he better than Jax or Madieu at this point.BTW, how many Super Bowls has Vincent won? So I'm not convinced that he PUSHES us OVER THE TOP.
