ArmyBengal
The kickers are doing exactly what I and many others expected them to do... Larson looks like he's finally got a hold on things (hope that continues) and Shayne-o-matic has found a way to improve on his kickoffs... I'm loving this !!!WHODEY !!! HairOnFire
Geathers has played his situational role to perfection so far. When he isn't sacking, he's pressuring. Or being held. Yesterday I watched the Pittsburgh game on NFL Replay and was amazed by how often Max Starks blatantly held Geathers, yet it was never called. To his credit, Getahers never lost his poise, bagged a couple of sacks, and was still bringing heavy pressure on the last play. It's hard to believe that this is the same player who disappointed so badly last season.

During the actual game I was screaming "HOLDING YOU F**KERS!!" at the refs at the top of my lungs most of the goddam game! They refused to call it once, and it was soooo blatantly obvious!! Yeah, that's a good point, I forgot about that ($1.00 game day drafts will do that), but I was pissed at the time. Even sitting 15 feet away from a 19" TV, it was obvious. Especially when they're hooking a pass rusher from behind and grabbing the jersey and crap. When a guy's jersey stretches 2 feet behind him, call it!How do some crews just get away with evidently deciding they don't feel like calling penalties? It's hard to believe that this is the same player who disappointed so badly last season. For me, the most frustrating that about holding penalties in that game this: If the refs aren't calling holding... then why can't the Bengals O-Line figure that out? You'd figure if they are allowing holding, that gives the O-Line a big advantage... and they still got outplayed by Pittsburgh's blitzing.Did anyone read today's Hobson's article? It was hard for me to read. It was one excuse after the other. I'll admit that the Bengals O-line got outplayed for a game. No biggie... we still won the game (just proof that sometimes there is more to winning a football game than what happens in "the trenches").That said... it's a problem worth watching for tomorrow. We're playing another team that loves to get after the QB. Despite the poor secondary, that front 7 remains elite. I'm hoping we won't have to read another article full of excuses next week, and we can enter the bye relieved that our O-Line remembers how to protect Carson Palmer. Stripes
I don't think the Patriots will be able to dominate our offensive line to the extent that the Steelers did last week. I think their front seven is overrated, and isn't going to be as capable of drilling us down the middle of the line. Ghiaciuc will have to play better, but I don't think he'll be as confused as he was against LeBeau's blitz schemes.I think the Pats' defense is overmatched in just about every way possible. Hopefully the same won't be said of our defense too though. Shootouts suck.

This game should scare EVERYBODY - - It's one of 2 games this year where we have a QB equal to Carson - This Patsy team STILL has a sizable core group that has won 3 out of the last 5 superbowls. - We are due for an emotional let-down - Our best reciever in 2006 - Chris Henry - will probably sit due to stupidity. This is the ONLY area we truly outclass the Patsies. All in all - I is worried. If the score is within 7 points at the start of the 4th quarter, are perfect season is in serious jeopardy! jonf45uk
i agree with that.if we allow brady the time we gave ben, he could have a huge day.we've got to protect palmer better too, or we could lose him again pretty quickly. no qb should take that many his week in, week out.hope the line gives us a better push for the run aswell, as it was non-existent last week.think this'll be a tough one.lets hope the crowd give us the advantage!!jon
