You know if you watch the video and listen carefully, you'll notice that O'Dell gives out his SS Number. I can't believe they released that all over the internet. I'd sue.

Ok. I didn't realize that he did a U turn in the on Kellogg. Actually, it says that he crossed the yellow line in this article. Everything I read said there was a check point. I was under the impression that there was a DUI check point at that intersection. Believing what I read, I started to think," when was the last time you saw a DUI check point in Hyde Park or Indian Hill? Never."

Why can't they just follow the law?

Ckeckpoints are strategically set up based on DUI statistics. You put them where they happen most. Believe me, this city is monitored for racial discrimination so closely that checkpoints are not regulated based on race.

He is not above the law. He was drunk driving and got caught. Now he can face the punishment, and if he's still on the team he can come back and play football.

I'm glad you are trying to defend Odell, but believe me, if you got a dui he wouldn't give a care in the world.

This is a thoughful and legitimate response. Thanks. But I still wonder if the it's the chicken or the egg. DUI statistics are vague at the best. One could argue that the statistics exist because they target minority club nights at Annies. Every Sunday? Think about it.

Thurman drunk driving is illegal. Henry drinking is against his probation. McNeal is a moron who isn't stopping this nonsense and saying, "Dont you think this only perpetuates the image problem?". Not jail worthy but sure shows the smarts McNeal posseses.

You are missing the point. Sunday's are 100.9fm night at Annies. They put up checkpoints and pull over Escalades. I have lived in Cincy for 31 years, I have never seen a DUI checkpoint at a major intersection outside a white bar, even though there are white bars with just as many drunk people.

Uh no. Like I said, there has not been DUI checkpoints inside city limits in years done by Cincy Cops. Most DUI stops are done by either stateys or County deputies, and those were done in the suburbs mostly. Strange thing is, they would tell people where the checkpoints would be, and they still would bust people.

I cannot remember where I heard that Odell did a U turn, but I did hear that. Thus that is why the chase officer had to pull him over, and he actually didn't get busted at the checkpoint itself.

There is Annies, which I used to frequent myself back in the day on Sunday nights, it was most definitely a mixed bag of people there, actually met Kijana Carter there (with his shattered arm no less) way back. Also, right around there is the East End Cafe, Bella Luna, Allyns, Tostados Grill...should I keep going? Kellogg is a long road, and there are a lot of restaraunt/bars on it/near it. You are contending that there was racial profiling going on, that is laughable, especially considering that the East End is a majority Appalachian historically. But go ahead, believe what you want to believe, you are just wrong.

Now, let us compare where Annies is as to say, any bar in Hyde Park Square. There is no walkup customers at Annies, none. It is all people driving. Percentage wise, that leans to the cops catching some people drinking and driving. As for Hyde Park, look where those bars are situated. Right in the middle of a highly populated area, so there is more walkup. Heck, I walk to those bars from my friends houses all the time.

Do you see what I am getting at there? It's not about white/black, it's about the mode of transport for a majority of the people frequenting the places. I am not saying that Hyde Parkers are the only ones going to those bars, but they have less of a distance to go to get home (so the cops don't have as much time to bust them) and they go in all directions. Now look at Annies. Two ways in. East and west, and that is it. Much, much easier for the police to put up checkpoints there and hit at least a good percentage of the people in the area....

When I lived in Cincinnati, I went to 100.9 (although it is 101.1 now I believe) nights all the time and I have never seen a checkpoint outside one.

If you do something illegal (and he clearly did) you must be prepared to face the consequences.
