jjakq27 Posted September 25, 2006 Report Posted September 25, 2006 The coach received a failing grade for yesterday's game from the local paper in Pittsburgh. Talk about bandwagoners. duus Posted September 25, 2006 Report Posted September 25, 2006 Welcome to Pissburgh. Fans with the shortest memories in the world. And they wonder why the recent article didn't rate them very high in fan loyalty. As I have said many times, the Black-N-Urine have no idea what being a real fan means. I am as proud as ever to be a Bengal fan. We were a new franchise and had our struggles. We had some really great (and fun) years in the 80s, but ran into Montana. The 90s sucked beyond belief but we never stopped being fans. I also think this experience has led us to be much, much more objective and open-minded about each game and each player. These folks around here are completely spoiled football brats ... that includes the media ... especially the media. Quote
DC_Bengals_Fan Posted September 25, 2006 Report Posted September 25, 2006 Sheesh, I don't see blaming Cowher for that game. With the exception of two plays (turnovers), being realistic, the Steelers have a better than 50/50 chance of winning the game. Not guaranteed, but a good chance. Those plays are a muffed punt that was misjudged in 25+ MPH winds, and a fumble. Gee coach, should have done something about that....?I'd want out of there if I was him too. Quote

Ox Posted September 26, 2006 Report Posted September 26, 2006 That's par for the course in the "Steeler Nation". Quote
Stripes Posted September 26, 2006 Report Posted September 26, 2006 Cowher's only real mistake as I see it was leaving Reid out of the game and letting Ricardo return punts. Still, he could not have forseen such a terrible muff at such a terrible time. Quote
Dadraftnick Posted September 26, 2006 Report Posted September 26, 2006 They left out the A+ to the Bengals for kicking their a$$e$ Quote
duus Posted September 26, 2006 Report Posted September 26, 2006 Cowher's only real mistake as I see it was leaving Reid out of the game and letting Ricardo return punts. Still, he could not have forseen such a terrible muff at such a terrible time.Well, to be honest, the media types around here have asked Cowher repeatedly over the weeks as to why Reid is not returning kicks when he clearly won the job in camp. The rational that Cowher uses is that he has this 'hard-nosed' guy on special teams that uses up the roster spot that would otherwise be used for another returner. Blah, blah, blah. Cowher has recently gotten really defensive (and rude at times) when asked about this. My bet is that his hard-headedness made him put Colclough in there, hoping for something that he could throw back in the face of the media. Well, it bit him. The opposite has happened. Sort of funny to me. Quote
