Where's Chris Henry? Deserves a vote? Or at least a mention.

Believe it or not, I might offer someone who didn't do wonderful on the stats but made a huge impact. If he had held onto a couple of the balls that came his way, it wouldn't even be close. But Hines, the Bengal killer, was silent today.

We can thank Jonathan Joseph for that.

I voted for other which is CHenry, I think the way he burned Pitt in the 1st half, allowed TJ 1on 1 coverage later in the game...I was also impressed with JJoseph...

I went with TJ as well... You could see the impact he had just being on the field. The Steelers players were focused on him and gave him an earload everytime he had the ball. They didn't forget his shoe shining act and to tell you the truth, I thought it was a distraction when it came to TJ and the Bengals, as a team benefitted from it !!!

WHODEY !!!

If ML were given this vote, he'd defer, saying it's 45 guys, and I agree.

That said, I can't separate TJ and Henry on the O side -- we needed both doing what they did to win. I do suspect that TJ is more important to the team in intangible ways than we might guess. Palmer hung in there and led the team when lots of QBs would not have.

On the D side, even though the run stopping was not good, many players were there when it was needed. Madieu Wiliams is showing how much he was missed last year (and the late personal foul on him hitting their QB high was more accidental than intentional, I think). If he doesn't make that difficult fingertip INT early, whole different ballgame. Joseph is solid. O'Neal all over the place. And even though we didn't get to Roethlisberger as much as we'd like, he took a long time looking for options on a lot of plays, meaning nothing open downfield. Simmons is playing more good ball than many fans thought he would. Thurman would not be playing better in the middle. I thought the D line played better than their stats would show... Roethlisberger is elusive and strong in the pocket, and I thought the line was getting held all day. Geathers got credited for two sacks and he was the one getting held most from what I could see. He's gonna be good. He's only like 23 years old.

On ST, Larson had a really good game, and his long punt led to their misjudge-muff. Graham had some touchbacks. Long returns rarely happen anymore. Stewart made the big FR when there were Steelers all around. Heck, even Kelley Washington is covering kicks these days!

Really was a team effort, so much had to come together.

I chose Madieu. His interception turned the game around the first half. He also batted away several balls that would be sure touchdowns. But the entire secondary (unfortunately except for James), played well.

T.J. certainly had the greatest catch I've seen in a while.

His stat line doesn't look all that impressive... but Madieu was the man out there.

I don't feel like I can give KK the vote. He filled in great, and came up with a great play at the end of the game... but I just don't think our run defense would have looked as bad with Dexter in there.

The Jags great run defense against Pittsburgh was almost soley because Darius filled the gap at the line of scrimmage over and over again. That was why I thought we would miss Dexter... and I think I was right. If he plays, Willie doesn't get all those yards.

I gave my vote to KK, you can't blame the run defense on him. If anyone gets the blame it's the LB's and D-line. The cutback runs were wide open, the LB's were pretty much no where to be found. If your run defense is dependent on your safeties to stop the run, than your run defense isn't very good.

KK not only had the pick to end the game, but he forced the fumble on Haynes that turned into the game clinching touchdown. He made solid tackles all day. TJ is a close second on my vote.

Four guys got game balls from me:

Carson Palmer - played through adversity. didn't have his sharpest game, but he made plays when they counted.

TJ - returned from a bruised heel, caught 2 clutch TD's, and made the Steelers pay for their mistakes.

Henry - kept the Bengals alive and in the game.

Williams - Madieu was EVERYWHERE this game, he really played his 'tail' off. I thought he had more than 4 tackles, he was tackling Parker it seems every other play.

Oh yeah, can't forget Kenny Watson.

Excellent showing by him today as well.
