walzav29
Are the Steelers going to come out fired up after getting shut out nationally? Can they really last in a shoot-out against the a fired up Bengal offense? Who is has more to play for? It is going to be a great game. To me this is the exam for the can the Bengals stop the run question. When the Steelers get shut down in the run the next week they come out and just try to ram it. The only issue I see with that plan is that Willie is a finesse guy.
skyline
It's ALWAYS good for a division opponent to lose.Sure, they'll be angry and looking to pound on somebody, but if the Bengals aren't equally pumped for this game, then we don't deserve the win. Edogger
It is tough to say, I think they will come out hoping to avenge this lose, but that would just make for a very exciting game! Big Ben definitely did not look ready to play, so we'll see if he is completely healed for the Bengals. Cause if those hits last night caused pain...just wait until this weekend! Whodey! HoosierCat
I don't think there's any question that it helps. C'mon, we are 2-0 and they are now 1-1, so the worst-case scenario is we lose and we're back to square one at 2-1 each. (Yeah, I know, tiebreakers and all that, but there's a lot of football left to be played, including the home game vs. Pitt, so don't worry about that yet.)OTOH, we pull out the victory and we are up 3-0 on 1-2 Pitt, and the next four weeks include a bye and 3 very winnable games. Pitt, meanwhile, has a bye and then games in SD and Atlanta sandwiched around a home game against KC.
ArmyBengal
If any Bengals fan answers anything other than "It helps" is f*cking crazy !!! How can a loss to a Divisional foe be a bad thing ?? Don't even say, because they will be more fired up for our game, either because if we aren't ready for that one, (as stated earlier) we don't deserve to win. STEELERS LOSING = GOOD FOR BENGALSWHODEY !!!
cincy9275
Last night doesn't change anything . To me it just showed that pissburg is not as good as they think . Little Ben is not a q/b that can carry his team . Ben is a system q/b you take the run away from them and they are very average . Ben's INT'S in the 4th last night were awful he just threw it up for grabs . I will give the Jags some credit there D was good and ready to play . Donovan Darius had a monster game he flat out stood up and stuffed Parker 3 times and that P/F he got was bull that is the same thing that happened to Chad . The way the jags moved the ball and T.O.P they had with there very vanilla offense . There is no reason we can just absolutely shred there D . if i was a stoolers fan i would be very concerned . i mean there performance last night was worst than the way the browns played . man handled and shut out on monday night football . Stripes
The Bengals have had a reason to be fired up about this game since January. It shouldn't matter either way.I'll take a one game lead over our chief rivals in the standings any day of the week.
