derekshank Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 I think it was Hoosier (formerly Joisey) who jokingly suggested that if we weren't going to use the TE postion for a receiver, why not put Andrew out there? Well apparently the coaching staff was reading that post. http://www.bengals.com/news/news.asp?story_id=5498How deep is this offensive line? It has a backup right tackle in 350-pound Stacy Andrews who plays behind three-time Pro Bowler Willie Anderson. But the Bengals feel he’s too good to sit on the bench, so they’ve been using him sporadically the past two games as a tight end. And on Sunday, he lined up next to the pulling Steinbach and the duo opened up a swath around the edge for Johnson’s 20-yard gain. Quote

HoosierCat Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 File that under "blind squirrels & acorns."The move has the same drawbacks as putting Levi in as a blocking TE did back in his first year, namely it telegraphs that youre about to run. But given Stacy's size, advance knowledge may not prove all that advantageous!Good to see Andrews getting some reps. Quote
Kazkal Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 I'd love to see him get thrown too if we have a large lead Quote

agreen_112 Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 I say keep lining him up periodically on run plays to always let them know that we're running the ball in this situation. Then later on when we get to a goaline situation, put him in as TE and playaction, toss it to him in the back of the endzone for 6... Quote

Stripes Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 I don't think it'd hurt to try and throw the ball with him in the game at TE. I don't want it being thrown to HIM, but this could work for some nice deception. Quote
cincy9275 Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 tell carson keep some gravy on the sidelines and rub a little on the ball and the dancing bear will always catch it . Quote
