Sounds like the guy did play an important role in the Revolution, but I don't see any comparison (for better or worse) to George Washington. According to what little I've read here, Galvez's involvement was minimal... His influence was effective in Spanish controlled regions of modern day U.S.A., but beyond that, he did very little. Spain's involvement in the war was minimal in itself, at least as compared to that of the French.

He is the guy who won your Independence.

Dig a little deeper, he took the South of the US to Ohio and controlled the Mississippi. While Washington hadnt won a battle. The English surendered because he was beatin them so bad. Solo Yo, is what he said when he to peniscula florida with one Ship. How do you do a link?

The English surrendered once Washington had cornerned Cornwallis at Yorktown... I'm not convinced Galvez was involved in the least. Beyond offering the American troops supplies in the south and fighting off the British south of Georgia, there isn't much on him that I can find.

He was supplying Washington and had taken the South of the us while Washington was struggling. He was buying the frnch Ships. Revisionist history sucks. His Army of Cajuns, blacks and Indians won that war. How can I get a link up?

Remeber that name

Why, is there a test or something ??

He is the guy who won your Independence.

Spain, while I am MORE than willing to give credit where credit is due, aren't you going just a bit overboard with this statement ?? He is but one person who did extraordinary things during that period of our Country and in that war in general, but to say, "He is the guy who won your Independence" is crazy !!!

Don't you have some packing to do ??

The fact that the guy gets no respect Army, He walked the English. If he wasnt there the colonies would have lost the War.

That's quite a stretch, but even if it were true, the same can be said about many things.

If Washington wasn't there, the colonies would have lost the war.

If the French didn't save us at Saratoga, the colonies would have lost the war.

Et cetera...

Many people get no respect for what they did during that period Spain... What about all the slaves at that time that fought for a country that looked upon them as if they were animals, to gain their freedom ?? The cause would have been lost if it were not for the slaves... You could do a search on google and come up with 100's of names that were instrumental during that war that were barely heard of and got no respect.

Were you related to this guy and feel slighted or some sh*t ??

WHODEY !!!
