Something I Marvel At

When you look at what Bengals fans have endured over the years, and how loyal we are, it boggles the mind. The Bengals have (according to the Post), never started 2-0 in back-to-back seasons in their franchise history. Gracious.

Sure would like to change that this week.

2-0 ... ha! This team has a great opportunity to turn a 'concerning' first quarter of the season into ... well ... who knows? Could be anything from 2-2 to 4-0! I taste a very healthy 3-1 start. Who would have thunk it when the schedule came out and there were still concerns with Carson. Very nice change in events for us.

Oh Lord, please give the Bengals health.

The Bengals have all the tools they need to do beat any opponent, anytime, just need to keep them on the field. This offense's starting 11 have already regularly performed against the top rated defenses in the league, AFC & NFC. Those guys impersonating our defense are scary. Ball hawks in the backfield are making the QBs hold it longer. And the D-line is benefiting. Tough for a QB - hold on and get sacked or throw it up and give up INTs. Ouch

And there it is. Way to nutshell things, angst.

Obviously the Bengals D isn't going to produce 7 sacks a game...although they should be able to put intense pressure on the Browns this weekend. That said, even if the pass pressure doesn't translate to the stat sheet I don't think the style of play will change. Justin Smith brings what he's always brought, B-Rob and Geathers seemed transformed, the DT's aren't getting pushed around anymore, and the secondary is vastly improved...giving the D-line a fighting chance.

2-0 :sure:

I think with the Turds OL, the pressure this weekend has to come from the DT's - big Sam, Thornton, et al.

It would be extremely pleasureable to start out 2-0 or 3-1.

The win last Sunday was huge.

Gotta at least split with Baltimore, Pitt, and then win either the Carolina or NE game, and they'll be sitting pretty.

After sunday, the sched already looks better.

We play the two toughest NFC South teams and NE at home.

The games at Indy and Denver will be pivotal.
