Kazkal Posted September 11, 2006 Report Posted September 11, 2006 BRANCH DEALT TO SEAHAWKSAccording to Mike Reiss of the Boston Globe, Pats receiver Deion Branch has been traded to the Seattle Seahawks for a first-round choice in the 2007 draft.Branch presumably will sign a contract extension with the Seahawks in the near future. The move likely renders moot Branch's pending grievances against the Patriots, alleging both that the team reneged on an oral promise to trade him and that the team failed to negotiate a contract extension in good faith. The first-rounder figures to be a low pick, since the Seahawks are the odds-on favorite to win the NFC West crown. HoosierCat Posted September 11, 2006 Report Posted September 11, 2006 No big surprise. Seattle needs offensive weapons. So does NE but Branch wasn't going back there. Quote
DC_Bengals_Fan Posted September 11, 2006 Report Posted September 11, 2006 No big surprise. Seattle needs offensive weapons. So does NE but Branch wasn't going back there.I'm moderately surprised. I thought there was a very good chance he held out until week 10, came back, and sulked. Quote
Kazkal Posted September 11, 2006 Author Report Posted September 11, 2006 Speaking of patriots (from another forum)The back story is intersting as well. This will come out in the next couple days.During halftime it was reported that a former WR for the Bills that New England picked up was dropped before the game by the Pats. The problem developed when this same WR was in the hall talking with different Bills players before and during the game. It seems he might have been picked up just to get info from him about the Bills. Will see how this plays out. Quote

Stripes Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 Deion Branch is not worth a first round pick. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 He certainly can't hurt the Seattle WR corps in the least and the pick will be a low first rounder, so you never know...WHODEY !!! Quote
PMThor Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 I think there are conflicting things going on here, considering what Porter did during the Raiders game... Quote
dez0923 Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Good. One less weapon at Brady's disposal. Quote
