Chatman Out, Pollack and O'neal Questionable

Antonio Chatman will be out versus the Chiefs. Noone is saying who will return punts.

Pollack and O'neal are questionable. Jonathon Joseph to start at CB according to Marvin.

Pollack really disappoints me with his lingering injuries not to mention his rookie training camp hold out.

Either Tab or Keiwan would return punts....a good op for Keiwan to show he does in fact have a role on this team.

Questionable is still a ways from out but it's too close to doubtful for me. No O'Neal hurts less this game than it would some others down the road and there's matchups here where Keiwan probably won't be as exposed as the nickel back unless where talking about Gonzales in the slot as the 3rd then it would have to be James, Joseph and Madieu with K2 or Keiwan in at safety with Dex Jack.

No Pollack hurts more just from the pass rush standpoint. Rashad Jeanty is no David Pollack so I'd expect Jumpy Jr. on passing downs at LDE. But Justin Smith really should have a field day vs. Kyle Turley on the other side.

But Justin Smith really should have a field day vs. Kyle Turley on the other side.

We'll see. That's really the main match-up I want to watch too. If Turley is really back, then we won't get a great pass rush from that side. If Turley's back problem and weight loss hurt him a lot... we'll be able to get to Green from both sides. B-Rob is going to own Kevin Sampson.

If any of you have the tape of the GB pre-season game... watch B-Rob on the Favre INT. He was basically playing DT in the 3-4 (because the other DT dropped into coverage). Robinson stepped back and ran around the LT and hit Favre pretty hard. I couldn't believe how fast and nimble he looked.

If Joseph is forced to start... well, I guess we'll just count our lucky stars that the KC WR's are Eddie Kennison and Samie Parker. Also Deltha and Pollack have 4 days to be upgraded, so lets not count them out just yet.

I would be much happier to see O'neal in there. With Larry Johnnson, Kennison, Parker and Green it is tough enough on our D. Yes, Justin should handle Turley for sure, but our D is designed more for coverage sacks and without Deltha, I think we could be in looking at a Chief advantage.

Coming out party for Jonathan Joseph!!! Gonna show everyone why the team made him the Number One pick in the draft this year.

He's allready beaten Ratliff for the nickle now he'll show everyone why he's going to be a great corner..

Sammy Parker? good speed ...countered now with a corner with as good or better speed...

Ratliff will handle the nickle ....

dont forget Greg Brooks getting some PT as well.. He looked impressive in preseason healthy and all...

Everyone is allways touting our depth.. Well now we use it and get it down in a different fashion.

Dont Worry ..Be Happy!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone remember Madieu coming in earliy as a rookie ?? He got his ass handed to him more time than one. I would really rather not see that from Joseph. I'll be ok if he has to go, but will be concerned every offensive play by KC. It's not like they have a subpar offense or something !!!

WHODEY !!!

Agree with the pass rush helping out Joseph. As much of a concern it is for me, I must admit it should be interesting to see him start it up and see what's what !!!

WHODEY !!!

thats the spirit Army!

this kid has the tools to be some special..

He may get burnt but then again he just may come up with a key INT as well.

Im looking at the bright side for now.

Hell all of us think this team is something special and could possibly make it to the big game this year.

If Im going to worry about a game like KC....teams like Carolina or the Stools pose more problems than a team with both of their lines either banged up or unproductive..

A win some sunday!

i am worried about joseph as well...i think he'll do good but he will give up some plays im sure. hopefully nothing too significant. and i hope ratliff does not return punts - stick to the nickle, u might have been good at it in college but not anymore, let tab do it. ya and im not worried about the linebackers without pollack. jeanty has done more than enough to show me he deserves a shot on the field.

Since Hobson hasn't seen fit to get this week's game center up and running on bengals.com (maybe he's too busy trying to ferret out this year's secret slogan or something) here's the latest injury report from the Chiefs' site:

I'm actually excited to see Jeanty get a shot in a real game. I was very impressed by him in the preseason.

I'm still expecting both Deltha and Pollack to play. They are questionable at mid-week. Sure... you don't want to start the season that way... but they're not doubtful, so I expect them both to play.

Marvin was a little mis-quoted if someone stated that he has named Joseph the starter. The question he was asked was "what if Deltha can't go" the answer... "Joseph will start." It was an answer to a question. I think Deltha will start.

Huh, the Chiefs' site indicates Pollack apparently took part in the 11 on 11 team practice drills, no one else listed did other than Brooks.

I don't see how Deltha could be in game shape at this point, he's missed at least 3 weeks - not sure if he's practiced or ran or what.

Seriously losing your best CB vs the Chiefs is not a good thing. Not sure it's a game breaker, but I could see Joseph getting picked on - and giving up some big plays. But he seems pretty solid covering deep vertical routes already. Regardless it's an issue, the offense better come ready to light it up.
