marylandbengal
Yeah, i dissed Ben when he got in his accident because his injuries were mainly from his own stupidity, and still wished he'd get better so there'd be no excuses. This is different. I think its too soon to tell whether he'll be back for our game or not, but it won't make a difference in the outcome. stilldiesel
Army. I agree someone would use that as an excuse. The thing about the playoff game is that Kitna led you to a 10 point lead twice. You have to admit your defense let you guys down in that game. Kitna only threw the 2 picks AFTER you defense blew 2 double digit leads. If Batch was playing against Palmer in Pitt and built a 10 point lead I would fully expect our defense to hold it. I never hear any Bengal fans complaining about the defense in that game. Kitna was red hot in the 1st half of that game.
ArmyBengal
Oh I think plenty of people complain about the defense and I am one of them. That implosion was rediculous and Kitna was just one piece of that. I think how much of an "improvement" we are talking for our defense will be the difference maker. If Big Sam, D. Jackson, and a healthy Madieu play the way most anticipate, things will be more than OK... We will see...WHODEY !!!

Kitna only threw the 2 picks AFTER you defense blew 2 double digit leads.Defense was nothing new to us though but with carson theres a chance we could keep up.If Batch was playing against Palmer in Pitt and built a 10 point lead I would fully expect our defense to hold it. Kazkal
Out of curiousity who is Ohalete??Our starting SS last year after Losing both of our starting safeties to injurys,If you watch the colts game you can see him missing a tackle or getting burned on preatty much any big play...hell you look at 90% of the big plays given up and most likely will be his fault. HoosierCat
I wonder if Cowher signs a vet QB.Pitt was going with just Ben and Batch. So there's no one behind Charlie right now, except for whoever is the "emergency QB" and now that Randel El is gone, I have no idea who that is.They do have Omar Jacobs on the PS but he is reported to be light-years away from being ready to go.So, do you sign a vet QB, which would force you to make another roster cut , in order to sign a guy you may not need beyond Thursday? In short, do you take a chance carring just one QB into Thursday, and then hope that Ben is, at worst, ready to occupy the No. 2 spot vs. Jax? angst
Get well soon Ben - best wishes for a speedy recovery. The Bengals will have no trouble getting up for any Steeler game, I believe the Bengals can beat the Steelers at their best and hope we get the chance to prove it week 3 with a healthy Ben R.Who-dey! DC_Bengals_Fan
Pitt's bye is the last week of September, my bet is he returns Oct. 8 vs. SD at the earliest. Which would mean we, along with Jax and Miami, get Charlie Batch.I believe Ward is out for the opener as well. Things are not starting out well for the Steelers.Am tempted to add a line about karma being a real beyotch this year to the Steelers, but that would be a non-fully-formed-brain kinda thing, eh? How ironic. How long ago were we rueing the fact that we were having to bring Wright against a full-strength Steelers team? Flipped that around. Better beat them now, that would be embarrassing losing to Batch.Guy's having a tough offseason, sheesh.

bengals4ever
Hope they don't grab NcNeal. Granted he would never be ready for opening day or even week 2 but I would hate to see him put on squeeler colors. They could always pick up some guy named Kordell. boomerman
I watched the playoff game in a sports bar in Canton. The place was packed with Steeler's fans. Almost all of them were cheering when they showed Palmer go into the tunnel on the meat wagon. Made me sick to my stomach. I have zero mercy for Steeler's fans. Karma, baby! Sure, I'd like to beat the best, but if Ben's out and they loose 4 or 5 out of the gate, they don't get any pity from me.

I was in a BW3 and there was probably about 4 squeeler fans in the place. When Palmer threw the pass to Henry the place went nuts. I was screaming and high fiveing everyone around. All the sudden the place got quiet.... ecxcept for the 4 squeeler fans who were yelling. Guess they figured they had to win some way. derekshank
Miami Thursday and then @ Jacksonville Monday night? If he misses both of these games... they just happen to be against the 2 teams on their schedule that we don't play. If they lose them both (and I expect them to if Batch is at the helm) it basically means that if manage one victory over either the Patriots or the Colts, we are a game up on Pit. The scedule could not have fallen any better.Last year I heard a Steelers fan on Dan Patrick say about Carson's knee injury "I would never root for an injury to an opposing player... but I sure as hell will take it." Well buddy - the feeling is mutual!
