Stripes
Cleveland is a very hostile enviornment, but the team isn't very good. Granted, I expect more from the Chiefs than the Browns this season, but they have made so many changes on both sides of the football, that it'll take time for the personnel to gel properly. This looked like a game the Bengals would probably lose early in the offseason, but all of our question marks are vanishing while the Chiefs are piling them on.We're good enough to give them a whoopin', but being in Arrowhead, it'll probably be close. HoTbOy
Yeah it is only preseason as people say, I for 1 take preseason as a measuring stick for the season...I have saw every Chiefs preseason game, and they are not the same team that beat the Bengals last year, we are not the same team...the Chiefs offense has done nothing in preseason, they really miss WRoaf, LJohnson won't have room to run like last year...true I'm a homer but I don't see a lost in KC come Sunday... ArmyBengal
I get what you are saying there, but it hard to say it's a measuring stick for the season when the starters get very little action. Now, if by that you mean a measuring stick to evaluate the talent you have in the rookies and youngsters, then sure, I agree !!! I also agree with seeing the Bengals win in KC !!! WHODEY !!! HoosierCat
Brian gets in right on da site today (emphasis added):Simmons said the 4-0 record simply means, “We won every game and that’s what we stepped on the field every time to do. We had that mind set. What does it mean? We’ll know more later.”The Bengals have sometimes been called "soft," but that wasn't really accurate. What they lacked was the mindset that any field they stepped on to was their field. And that an opponent challenges that conviction at its peril. No more. Tasher
1. They are going on the reputation of their homefield. 2. They have lost their probowl tackle, fullback and their starting center. They also lost their offensive coordinator as well as their offensive minded head coach. When the Chiefs lose Herman will say they need to "get on the same page"3. The spanking they got on the last game of the season. KC was playing like it was the Superbowl for their bawl baby coach. The Bengals were resting for the playoffs.4. The defense is swarming now, and Sam Adams and the 2 safeties are great.5. The offense is returning all starters, so they are already on the same page. The Cheifs defense isn't.Bengals 42Chiefs 17 It will be a great game, and I am ecstatic that their schedule is so tough. There will be no questions when the Bengals enter the playoffs this year.2a. They lost their other starting tackle, not the center I think. Still, can't stress that one enough - these guys are replacing BOTH of their tackles. One of their new tackles has started exactly 1 game in the NFL, and the other one is completly broken and hasn't played for 2 years (Turley). As long as big Sam and company plug the middle OK, I don't see them having much running room to the outside.I don't know that all this detail is necessary:Chiefs OL is non-existent so they will have trouble putting points up (all season).Look at the track record of the Bengals' offense over the past 2 years when it goes up against leading defenses: the opposition gets torched.Oh, BTW, Bengals had a better road record last year than home, FWIW.That is all. NYBengalfan
Herm Edwards will make that defense much better... he will do so at the expense of the offenseChiefs fans remember this with Herm as a coach...3rd and 20 is a running play !!!WHODEY !!!Yes, Herm Edwards will make that Defense better. But didnt we face a Herm Edwards defense before????Yes, we have. In CP's first start in the NFL. I was at the game at the Meadowlands. We lost but we put up 24 PTS.And I certainly think that the '04 Jets(10-6) were better than this years Chiefs defense.
