Burr, who gives a s**t? They will play bad teams and good teams, but the Bengals, with Palmer, are an elite team. Period.

And Palmer is back. Way way back.

And, off the top of my head, Saints are bad, and Browns are bad, so that's three games against less than good teams. Raiders will be the suck, so 4 games against bad teams.

Then for the other 12 games, I give a s**t.

I'm not saying we're not an elite team, or that Carson isn't back, I'm just trying to keep tonight's success in perspective.

Call me a spoil-sport, but I'm not booking Super Bowl reservations on the basis of a pre-season game against a crappy team.

Neither am I, burr, but if you think this was just another plain ol' pre-season game tonight, you are insane. Palmer's return, and return in that fashion, is ginormous, make no mistake.

All of the buzzing about the "knee being in his head" (a big f**k you to Peter King) is gone now. Now, just down to working at making the playoffs, a realistic goal with Palmer back and under center.

I didn't say that this was "just another plain ol' pre-season game". Carson's successful return, in my opinion, is the difference between making the playoffs and making the Super Bowl. But that's still a long way down the road.

So, I'm sitting here in Pissburgh watching this beautiful game on my big screen. Half-time occurs, and the scoreboard shows 34-7. I walk outside on my front porch to catch some fresh air and notice that there is an unusual chill in the air. Yeah, it's gettin' a bit cold around here ... folks are gettin' the chills. Ha ... I would be too if I just watched this Orange-N-Black team look so, so superior than the Black-N-Urine.

Man, am I looking forward to this season.

Our boy is wicked good. :bengal: There's no stopping this team with Palmer running the show. No rust whatsoever and all balls to go out and do what he did.

The defense looks vastly better this week and it ain't like the mighty Bills have got much more to work with than the Pack. They've just tightened it up. Good to see Greg Brooks finally get on the field and make a play. I'd like to see more of him and less Keiwan. Dex Jack dealt real well with Bubba Franks, which is a good sign considering the TEs the Bengals face this year not only in the North but in the West too.

OK, so I just caught up with the Live action on my Tivo, and I gotta say I'm psyched about the way our first stringers look! Great game by Palmer!! Can't wait for the season to start.

Once concern though is our nickel corner. Keiwan has just played awful tonight. It seems like every time the packers get a big pass it's on Keiwan's coverage. I hope Greg Brooks or JJ have an opportunity to shine, because I can't say I'm sold on Keiwan's ability.

Back to the positive. Overall the D looks great, even if it is against the Packers. WHO-DEY!!!!! :bengal:

I wouldn't get too excited about this defense yet - they do have potential - and it's hard to judge without Deltha and Simmons playing.

True no ONeal or B-Simms but all the more reason to get excited about D. The depth is shoring up finally. This D looks like it will be much better than last year's not just for the obvious in Madieu's return or the free agents in Big Sam and Dex Jack but from a depth perspective it's looking very promising. Still like to see more pass rush.
