walzav29
I have not yet heard "He is the QB for Monday night". Have you?
Ickey44
Unless his knee starts acting up, he's starting as far as I know.

Kirkendall
Press conference today to either confirm he's starting or sitting if the knee hasn't stopped swelling.
bengalboomer7
They had little weasel John Clayton on the Hot Seat this morning and he said this week was make or break for Palmer. He starts @ GB and nothing goes wrong, he's the opening day QB. If not, he could be held out the first month of the season. These are not my words, their Clayton's
ArmyBengal
I saw that Clayton piece and was thinking to myself, "He's a f*cking idiot" !!! The thing was "who's on the hotseat" and he made it sound like Carson was going to be out of job or something stupid like that. Real condesending... Chicken little B*TCH !!!WHODEY !!! fattyjay
Why does Clayton always have to be so melodramatic? One preseason game will not determine the fate of the franchise. The only reason Carson wouldn't play in the month of the season woulde be if he re-injured the knee (or God-forbid something else). All jinxing aside, I for one am going off what his teammates are saying from the way he has practiced. He'll most likely start slow then get hot as the game progresses. ArmyBengal
I would love to see him go out Monday and complete 12 of 14 for 250 and 2 TDs, but would be even more happy seeing him just get in for a series or two and NOT GET F*CKING HURT AGAIN !!!WHODEY !! fattyjay
My guess is that he will go at least as long as the starting o-line...the first half. ML will want to see as much from him as possible in the Green Bay game because the rest of the starters will see limited action against the Colts. ShulaSteakhouse
Err, Lance just posted pictures of Carson playing SAND VOLLEYBALL at the Beach Waterpark yesterday - for God's sakes if the guy can do that (and why he is eludes me) he can play Monday night.Honestly I think this whole ordeal is a bit of a ruse and he's wanting to take the field Monday on national TV in front of the hometown crowd and play well, and put some confidence back into the team/fans, and make a moment of it.He is fine - should be a good night just seeing him back, win or lose. I remember Wilt Chamberlain played beach volleyball as part of his recovery from a knee injury in 1970. The 71-72 season he came back was the one where the Lakers won 69 games, including 33 in a row. In any case, does this look like a guy having trouble moving around on his new knee? It's almost laughable the thought that he'll miss a whole month at this point - he's fine! ShulaSteakhouse
Yes he is starting/playing Monday and down-played a lot of the concerns reporters brought up - he said he has to talk to the coaches yet to see how much he will play exactly.Said he feels "much better" than he did at the beginning of training camp with his accuracy and ability to move around - as the picture above atests to - he's back! HairOnFire
Quick add on John Clayton, the football elf: He was on ESPN Radio this morning and after claiming he'd visited almost every NFL training camp was asked which camp was the most impressive. He answered that San Diego was the hardest hitting camp he observed. He quickly added the Bengals camp was not only the fastest paced but boasted the fastest team speed everywhere. "Players are just flying around everywhere." Last, he claimed to have watched every preseason game played so far with the exception of the Bengals/Bills game. No kidding, he said he hadn't been able to find it.

Clayton is so damn annoying...I think it's hilarious when Sean Salisbury rips him apart on NFL live since he hates the guy. Although this yr Sean hasn't been a bengals supporter. He was last yr though.Anyway, great news that Carson's feels ready! I can't wait for the season to begin.WHODEY!!!!!!
ArmyBengal
If Carson comes in and plays well and leaves little doubt of his return, watch how the media does a 180 in regards to team rankings and the Bengals in general...WHODEY !!! He is head over heels in love with Baltimore, saying they will make a Super Bowl run, and says the Bengals won't make the playoffs. I just don't understand all the Baltimore love. It happens every single year. Their defense is old and over-rated, and even if Steve McNair was coming off of his MVP year, he wouldn't be able to save them.Whatever... everyone is wrong sometimes. I just don't know why he picked such a ridiculous claim to hang his hat on.
