For the first time it what I believe is close to 15 years I did not purchase Madden on release date. I have pre-ordered Playstation 3 and will be getting Madden for PS3 (Nov 17th).

Anyone pick it up? Reviews? How do the Bengals look on the game?

For once, I actually agree with most of of the ratings of the team, and they finally got the uniforms right. The game plays pretty much the same, except they've totally revamped the running game. I'm not sure how I like it yet, I'm still getting used to it. Other than that, you'll hafta download the rosters after you get it, cause there's already stuff wrong on it, like Askew still being on the team, Peko isn't. And they still have B. Robinson listed at tackle not end.

Picked it up superstar mode is awesome but gets boring (having to wait well defense is up etc) I made a TE and got drafted by the saints Online play is good besides 6 out of 8 games i played were laggy

no alt uniforms online (probbley make us buy em off marketplace)

wanted a way to play with friends online vs other people

They need a freaking save feature for audibles and depthcharts so you dont have fix em every game

I just can't get excited about spending $50 for a new Madden game every year, anymore. I don't have the time to play more than a game a night/day in franchise mode, lil more on the weekends when the GF goes to bed.

Still contemplating this for my old xbox, but am content playing ESPN still also.

So far, I haven't been impressed. Every player looks like their a body builder. Check out Carson Palmer, he's huge. i just started one of those hall of fame superstar deals, and it's stupid. Their interviews are lame as hell, and the combine is just one of those drills you do. I thought maybe I'd be able to do the 40 yard dash or something like the actual combine. I got picked up in round three by the jags, and when you get to practice you can't even be yourself. And, if you can't even play defense come gametime, I'm quitting it now and starting franchise mode.

Now, when you get to the actual gameplay it's great. The gameplay is as smooth as I've ever seen it.

When I get these games I always start two franchises. One si straight up with the Bengals, and with the other I put all the players I want on the roster. Reggie Bush, AJ hawk, Donte Whitner, Santurdio, Mario Williams, just all young good players (and as many buckeyes as I can get)

I skipped over Madden last year and bouth college football. right now, I'm wishing I did it again this year.

I am a recovering Madden player. I USED to think that it was a great game. But after the 4th release of essentially the same game with the same animations/player models/mouth sh*tting from John, I got bored really quick and got upset at EA for sitting on their rearends in their "efforts" for every new release.

Keep in mind I LOVED this game in its first few years on the PS 1 and 2. However, I played ESPNs the year before last and decided that I will never buy a Madden game again until they convince me that they have actually made SIGNIFICANT improvements/overhaul to their game engine.

P.S. Is anybody else besides me sick of seeing those video game commercials that do nothing but show up-close shots of guys running. This is obviously done to wow you with great graphics, but you will NEVER and I mean NEVER play the game and see those camera angles. I want to see a commercial that showcases the actual gameplay - as you would see it when you are actually playing the game- instead of a shot of LT rushing for a touchdown while the camera revolves 360 degrees around him from about 2 feet away. Ridiculous. Maybe they do this because they know that their gameplay is crap and they can fool stupid gamers by showing flashy yet useless graphics.

Yea, the EA commericals are less gameplay and more graphics. Besides the one with Culpepper and CJ playing against each other where they show Pep toss a TD pass the gameplay looks bad. Check out Pollack when he is running- looks like he has a broken back or something.

I hate the franchise mode, I am more the type that likes playing different teams and I get burned out playing the same team for numerous seasons. Madden used to have where you could just jump right into a season, not any more. Past couple you had to create a franchise, fast forward thru the Preseason to get to the first game of the season. This was annyoing and took a good 15 minutes to get to

I just bought XBOX 360 and tried the game on it and was not impressed at al. Does anybody know how to change the WR routes at the line or did they take that away from us?

Why fix the game up with all sorts of great features like they COULD when they can change one or two stupid little details every year and charge you 60 bucks a copy? It's a complete ripoff, but the games are fun regardless.

Just got it tonight.

It's Ok. Not spectacular, not bad.

Not having any competition in the market is making Madden lazy. They know they have the market, so they don't have to do anything really new.

I wish I could just play a regular season, not franchise, not tourney, nothing else, just one season. But no.

The lead blocker thang is damn cool. But being a former nose tackle, I would think it is cool.

And my ultimate wish. This is silly, but dammit I want it.

I want the sidelines to have what the regular NFL sideline has. I want those guys with the giant parabolic dishes trying to pick up sounds out there. I want the guys with the orange gloves out there for TV timeouts. I want it packed with photographers, police, and the hangers on out there.

Why you ask?

I want Madden to follow the player out of bounds and just level those people every once in awhile. Or have them part ways for the runner. You know exactly what I mean. I want that.

I know it is stupid. But dammit, I want that. Once it happens, I know the game has reached utopia.

Super star mode is pretty cool but I was put on the Clowns. That sucked.

I'm not impressed with the game this year either. Online play is still the same as last year, after playing a few games online you'll see that nothing has really changed. The new running feature to me is pointless and very difficult. I can run the ball just as good as last year and not ever control the lead blocker, which is why I think that it's pointless. Overall I still love madden over any other nfl game ever made! Hopefully, It'll look and play sweet on the ps3 (playstation is where sports gaming is meant to be, not xbox.) Every sports game made on the 360 is crappy as hell and the controls are all screwwed up.

I read that someone has pre-ordered the Ps3, Where did you do it? Or does anyone else know where I can pre-order the system?
