BlainThePain
Anybody know anything about Joe Newton from Oregon State? Some of the draft sites seem to be high on him and we have a good track record with offensive Oregon State players. He's 6'7" 260 pounds. Kazkal
Well he's huge he can catch but we also had that in greg esticada(sp?), so I doubt we draft someone like that which is fine I can live with a 6'3-6'5 aslong as he can block and catch ....I'd love to get joe in the 3rd if possible if we trade down in the 1st. derekshank
Put me down for wanting to wait until the 2nd day to get a TE. Call me a home-town homer... but I'm hoping for the Cincinnati Bearcat, Brent Celek. He seems really underrated to me.

He seems really underrated to me.Celek's as good as the rest of the TEs in this draft really for what the Bengals need. But if Doug Jones enters early, I'd say get him for TE in the 4th. Clark Harris would be tempting in the 2nd but I like Scott Chandler or Tyler Ecker in the 5th or Hopkins in the 6th or 7th.
Kazkal
Put me down for wanting no drafted TE.God forbid we take a 2nd day TE when 2's contracts expiring next year TE's looking good this year though from what I have been watching of college ball, though still daniel graham fa
Stripes
God forbid we take a 2nd day TE Indeed. There're so many better positions to take chances on in the late rounds. TE's looking good this year though from what I have been watching of college ball, though still daniel graham fa It'd be great if we could pick up Daniel Graham, but I have my doubts. I'd rather just resign Reggie Kelly when the time comes.

derekshank
Yeah... I'd be okay with nabbing Daniel Graham off of FA... but it doesn't seem like our style.Did you guys see my boy Brent Celek against Louisville on Saturday? Doesn't have a ton of speed... but has great hands, is hard to tackle, and is great on short and intermediate routes. Pretty much exactly what we need in a TE.What's the best thing about him? He's not putting up eye-popping stats, so he should fly under the radar playing for the Bearcats until the 5th or 6th round. He's incredibly consistent, and makes plays when it really counts, (For instance... against Louisville, 3 catches, 1 for a TD, 2 first downs, one being a 3rd and long that extended a drive for an eventual TD), and he can be had late. He's going to be the best bang for your buck in the draft at TE. A late pick that can and wil make an immediate impact on this team in the red zone and on 3rd down.

Kazkal
Wtf have I been missing I've been hearing people talk about newton as the most complete TE in the draft now
Tasher
Holy Cow, now that I am looking at the TE prospects a little more closely...1. Joe Newton Oregon St. 6-7 256 4.80 2. Matt Spaeth Minnesota 6-7 265 4.85 3. Clark Harris Rutgers 6-6 260 4.80 4. Matt Herian Nebraska 6-5 245 4.75 5. Martrez Milner Georgia 6-4 255 4.65 6. Scott Chandler Iowa 6-7 257 4.75 7. Ben Patrick Delaware 6-4 270 4.85 8. Anthony Pudewell Nevada 6-4 250 4.80 9. Jonny Harline B.Y.U. 6-4 238 4.80 10. Tyler Ecker Michigan 6-6 251 4.80 There is some SERIOUS size in this group!5 are 6-6 or bigger, that would sure be a nice red zone target! Kazkal
Mybe we can find one in the 4th if its the bpa
schweinhart
I'd say Chandler is much more complete than Newton and will go higher.Clark Harris is pretty interesting. Not quite the receiver that Chandler and Newton are but he's decent enough with short area routes, blocks real well and long snaps. Sooner or later the Bengals will need a snapper and I'd really like to see them get one that can actually also play a position.
derekshank
Did anyone see my boy Brent Celek today? He was playing injured, but managed an 83 yard TD catch where he broke 3 tackles and hurdled another. He's going to be a steal in the second day of the draft. I hope we grab him. Kazkal
Aye,Put me on 2nd day TE train day one all defense.day 2 mybe take a te if a total stud falls. in your lap
schweinhart
Yah great play by Celek...Last year there were 16 TEs picked and I'd say Celek could hit about 10th, which would land him late 4th/early 5th. Not sure if the Bengals will ever draft a TE again but for the difference of what it looks like they could get, I'd say 6th or 7th and see who's left among the line blocker types who can also play split backfield and lead in the Power I. For what they probably look for, I'd say Chris Hopkins of Toledo even though he's primarily used as a receiving TE in the Toldeo offense.
