Clackwoods Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 I wanted to get some Cincy insider on this debate. Who has the best chili in Cincy? I am laying down three choices and if you have more you want to add you can.-Gold Star-Skyline-Dixie ChiliMy vote is GoldStar which I think is one of the best resteraunts around. I am in the military and I travel a lot and when I come home to Cincy I am sure to make at least three trips to the Gold Star down in Newport or the one in Covington. Anyways, everyone have a great day and I look forward to the upcoming season and I will see you all in Cincy for the Pittsburg game because I am coming home for that one. Quote

ArmyBengal Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 I like Gold Star AND Skyline as they are the only two close to where my family is in Cincinnati, but I would add Blue Ash Chili. They are really good as well !!!WHODEY !!! Quote
bengalboomer7 Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 I'm gonna give Gold Star the slightest of nods. I moved to norhtern Ohio (Mansfield) a couple of years ago and they recently put in a Skyline. Well, these guys have absolutely no idea what they're doing, and the food is terrible. half the time, they can't get my order right, because they don't know the proper Cincy chilli ordering styles. chrishcovga Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 Skyline all day !But since someone mentioned the late night food. In Cincinnati, there is only one place to eat after the Midnight hour..WhiteCastle. - Sure you'll pay for it in the morning, but damn those are some tasty a** burgers. Quote
Dadraftnick Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 Best food in the world is a La Rosa's pizza peperoni ,extra cheese.Thats high quality food. Quote
TJJackson Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 Amongst foodies, Camp Washington Chili is generally considered the bestThat said, I prefer the chili at Blue Ash ChiliCamp Washington is however far easier to find, a lot closer to downtown, and open a lot more hours - open almost 24 hours a day. They also serve that other Cincinnati-only specialty - goetta. And yet another Cincinnati specialty - double decker sandwiches.http://www.campwashingtonchili.com/ Quote
jditty47 Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 the whole chili on the spaghetti thing blew me away when i was there for the first time 2 years ago. its an acquired taste and im betting awesome when u get used to it. i have only eaten at skyline - id say it got better with every time i went - and i learned what i liked. would like to try the other chili spots though, variety is always good. note - im from the west coast so chili isnt even thought of for a meal at all, mb once a year if my mom decided to make it.
