Kirkendall
Humm, you mean there's another reason to call Boomer "Dick"? I apologize, that was a lack of character on my part.

skyline
I may be wrong, Sky, but I think Tweeter & the Monkey man was their third album together, and after that Roy was pretty sick and barely featured in any other album. In fact, volume four is mostly just Dylan and Petty.I was referring to vol. 1, which has Tweeter and the Monkey Man as track 9.
HairOnFire
Hmmm. First concert? I think it would have been Triumph, early to mid 80s, at the old Cincinnati Gardens. They had a couple songs I liked, like "Say Goodbye" and "Ordinary Man" (buried in my car console, there's still an old, battered but still playable "Allied Forces" cassette) but it was then-girlfriend who was really into them.As I recall, they sucked live. I remember them. Sorta like Rush, but without any balls. Never surrender, right?
HoosierCat
I remember them. Sorta like Rush, but without any balls.I'd say smaller balls. Their b-side stuff was pretty comparable, but where Rush actually did good stuff with progrock lyrics, Triumph did good stuff with with teenybopper lyrics -- the most obvious being their big hit, "Magic Power." (I'm young/I'm wild/I'm free/Got the magic power of the music in me.") I would say that Triumph was to Rush as the Monkees were to the Beatles. Stripes
Never been to a concert. Most of the bands I love are no longer playing.

I was scared.Although KISS wasn't my first concert, I have seen them live 10 times!! My wife and I went to Vegas and saw them in '03. I also bought the Platinum Package for the Indy show in '04 and got to go backstage before the show. I paid a pretty penny for that one but it was worth it. I got to meet my childhood heros. MacD BengalFan
And since this thread is no where near what the original topic was, my first concert that I attended was McGuffy Lane at the Ohio Theater in 1980. Man, am I aging myself.
