BEREA, Ohio -- Pro Bowl center LeCharles Bentley sustained an injury to his left knee during the Browns' first 11-on-11 drill of training camp on Thursday.

Bentley got tangled in a pile of players as he was blocking on a running play for Reuben Droughns.

Bentley screamed, "No," before remaining on his knees as the Browns moved their scrimmage up the field so trainers could attend to the 6-foot-2, 309-pound player.

He stayed on the ground in a seated position for several minutes before Cleveland's medical staff immobilized his left knee and carted him to the locker room.

Bentley covered his face with a towel on the short drive to the field house as Browns players and fans looked on in shock.

The extent of Bentley's injury is not yet known.

Bentley, a five-year veteran, signed as a free agent with the Browns in March.

I just read LeCharles Bentley was carted off the practice field after injuring his knee.

I wonder if that will be more of a distraction to that team than Henry getting drunk with teenage whores, AJ stealing his own stereo, or Peko peeing?

Dang Hair, you finally get a avatar and its scaring the hell out of everyone....

Yes.. as you all know, Cleveland is cursed..

The city was built on top of Indian burial grounds..!

Although I loved Lecharles, this happens to the Browns every year, so I have gotten used to it.

No, the season is not doomed, he is a center, and we have a capable backup.

Sorry it happened. Who's the backup you mentioned?

I saw this when I was gone and think the same thing about how much this impacts their offense. Bentley is an all pro center and having anyone but him in there will be a set back. I hate to see this happen to any team, but the Browns were really starting to bring things together (at least it appeared that way to me)... Didn't they get rid of Faine ??

WHODEY !!!

Bob Hallen, a free agent pickup from San Diego who from what I've heard is a pretty good backup, so he should at least be a decent start I hope.

Yeah.. We traded Faine to move up in the second round so we could pick up Dqwell Jackson, that didn't bother me much though, Faine was too small and got destroyed by tons of defensive tackles.

Dawg talk was knocking him saying he hasen't played center sense his early years in the NFL and then was only a back and has been a career backup "shrug" but i guess hes better then faine

They weren't going to be contending for the Division, NO, but the progress the team was making with Bentley will be diminished. The so-called backup will cause problems for their offense and Frye. No one seems to like that guy at all...

WHODEY !!!

No one likes who? Charlie Frye or Bob Hallen?

Frye... Everyone seems to bag on the guy, but I honestly don't think he had that bad of a season considering he had little help on offense. If he could ever get "da soulja" and Braylon on the field at the same time, he might do even better !!!

WHODEY !!!

Well.. He's a third round pick coming out of Akron in only his second year, there's always tons who doubt him, but I'm sure he will surprise the league this year.
