Stripes
ya his 4.8 ypc really stands out.Makes all the comparisons between Brooks and Chris Perry look stupid, eh?There's no question, if Rudi Johnson keeps up anything close to this pace during his tenure as a Bengal, then he will break Dillon's record (again). Let's not get ahead of ourselves though... Dillon is on the top 20 list in NFL history. Rudi has a lot of ground to cover, but so far he has done nothing but show he is capable of covering it. Man, you have got to stop posting. Every time you post lately, I lose the ability to concentrate for 5 minutes while I consider moving to Brazil. ShulaSteakhouse
Well those aren't real so I'm not fooled. It's au-naturale or nothing for me. Rudi's not even halfway there yet, as far as rushing yards. But Dillon didn't manage to crack the 1400 yard barrier til his fourth year, and has only eclipsed the 1400 yard mark twice in 9 seasons. If Rudi doesn't have any major injuries, and he seems to be ideally durable and fundamentally sound, he'll break some records. His ypc could go up too if he gets some more consistent blocking for a year or two. James Brooks, as great as he was, had a one of the best o-line's ever in their prime, and his FB and TE's weren't too shabby either.Poor Harold Green. Dadraftnick
I have to say pound for pound James Brooks may be the best football player I have ever seen.He was only about 5-10 175-185 lbsHe had it all speed, moves, wiggle, pass catching, blocking. He blocked like a Mack Truck and always punished whoever was trying to tackle himI can still remember when he broke his finger early in a game and it looked like a cork screw and he stayed in the whole game.My all-time favorite game against Houston he single handedly won the game a couple of times,he ran a play for for about 40yd TD and ran Houston scored and he ran back a kick I would love to have a copy of that game I think it was 86Stanley Wilson could have been an all time great,I never saw a RB faster to the hole than Wilson,he was Deon fast but, drugs ruined his career. That old character thing again.Think about it, the Bengals had James Brooks,Ickey Woods,Stanley Wilson, and Stanford Jennings that has to be one of the best backfields in NFL history

walshfan
as far as running backs go ...dont project what Rudi may have ..he could get hurt or his production could fall as he gets older....there is no best runnning back just many great ones.Sanders, Brown, Dickerson, Alexander, Payton and on and on.. ArmyBengal
I loved watching Sanders run and would have loved to see him stay in the league longer. Payton was also great to watch. Rudi looks to be doing all the right things and after racking up the yards last year on a bum knee leads me to believe his toughness should not be in question !!!WHODEY !!!
