haha f**k you a**h***

I really am a bengal fan dickwad

Well then, Guy, I will offer my apology. But PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not live life like my father and all of that generation ... negative, negative, negative. This is a new day. Marvin has brought us a new day. And just to be very accurate ... they DO NOT always beat us. In case you haven't checked, with Carson behind center, the last game + has looked pretty nice. I am not concerned ... the days have changed. Sort of like color t.v. :-)

And the guy wonders why other fans might stray from decency when something like this happens to the Steelers.

Now, I take exception to that. When I heard that Roethlisberger wrecked, I laughed my ass off, but *not* because he's a Steeler. I laughed because of how freaking stupid and lucky he is, and I believe there are others of a similar persuasion. It was almost immediately apparant that he wasn't badly hurt, and that made it easier to laugh at him.

I mean, come on. He spent so much time last year talking about how safe riding without a helmet is. How the state wouldn't allow it if it weren't safe (which makes one wonder why it's somehow illegal, and implicitly more dangerous, in other states). And how stupid Winslow was for wrecking. Then it happens to him? The only way it's more funny is if it happened a week after Winslow, or if he blew a .25 after the wreck.

I don't call it karma, I call it comedic timing. This guy was probably 6 inches from a well-deserved Darwin award (if his head hit metal instead of glass), you have to laugh at such staggering stupidity.

Witnesses from the scene report that Ben handled the pain like a man and did not weep like a schoolgirl (ala Chad Johnson after the playoff loss).

Remember, that AFC North TV's not black and white . . . it's black and gold.

What are you talking about? It took him 3 minutes to figure out what his name was. Although whether that was from the concussion or just because he's dumb as a brick, that's not clear.

Let me get this straight...somebody wrote an article in a Pittsburgh newspaper about messages on a freaking website????

1. That is not news and bears no resemblance to journalism.

2. If you're a Steeler fan and "checked out the websites in the article" you need to cut off your pony tail, get the f**k out of Starbucks and get yourself a job. If, as I suspect, you only skimmed for something you might find offensive -- don't you think you've got some sort of problem? You obviously didn't read the actual thread. If you had, you would have seen that over 90% of the comments were from idiots like me thinking it was a serious injury and wishing him well.

3. Carson Palmer got hurt on the football field doing his job, not riding the streets without a helmet. If you think riding without a helmet is fine & dandy and his choice then why are you (a) surprised and (B) upset that this even happened? It was his choice right?

4. If you're offended that Palmer said he hates Pittsburgh, you are not a fan of any sport that I know of and you never played any sport.

I THOUGHT HE WAS TOO BUSY NOT KNOWING WHAT HIS NAME WAS AT FIRST AND TRYING TO HOLD IN HIS TEETH. HE WAS DAZED AT FIRST, THEN YOUR BODY'S FIRST COPING MECHANISM AFTER SMACKING YOUR HEAD LIKE THAT (IF YOU REMAIN CONSCIOUS) IS TO TRY TO GET UP. THIS SOUNDS LIKE THE REPORT I HEARD AND I WAS OUT IN PHOENIX THE DAY IT HAPPENED. YOU ARE NOT IMMEDIATELY GOING TO START BAWLING UNTIL YOUR BODY AND BRAIN CATCH BACK UP WITH EACHOTHER AND YOU BEGIN TO COMPREHEND WHAT HAS HAPPENED. EVEN SO, I WOULD EXPECT HIM TO TAKE IT LIKE A MAN, HE IS AFTERALL A PRODUCT OF OHIO.

REMEMBER, NFL REFEREES ARE NOT BLACK AND WHITE......THEY ARE BLACK AND YELLOW. WHAT'S THIS GOLD CRAP? GOLD ON FABRIC, HAS A METALLIC PROPERTY TO IT. I COULD SEE IF THE YELLOW ON YOUR UNI'S HAD METALLIC IN THEM, BUT THEY DON'T. OH WELL.........YINZ.

:lmao::lmao::lmao: This thread puts a huge smile on my face. After Fittipaldo decides to post an article that he knows to be rediculous and unfounded, we have Bengals fans and Ravens fans alike in here screaming at the common enemy. I'm sure Who will be leading a Brownie brigade in here to join the party soon!

Anyone that has actually visited this website with any regularity (which would be required for it to be possible to offer an unbiased article regarding our posts) can see that there is nothing to be enraged over. The vast majority of us responded to Ben's incident with class and respect, myself included. Fittipaldo is well aware of that too. How many posts do we have in the Big Ben Injury thread? A good 200? Ray Ray was able to compile (and skew) the words of a whole three people. Two of them didn't even say anything ill of Ben, but only the fans of his team!

We can find solace in the fact that the vast majority of Steelers faithful are intelligent enough to see the slants and bias in Fittipaldo's pathetic article. One thing I am certainly not going to do is attack the brain power of the fans of a damned football team with no real grounds for such accusations (are you listening Dr. Friday?).

The Pittsburgh Post Gazette isn't even a bad news source for the most part. I am shocked, however, that their editors would read through this article and actually approve it despite the obvious factual errors and bias within. I guess success has always breeded arrogance, and the city of Pittsburgh is the best example of that phenomenon of all.

It's refreshing to see that the posters on this website are more credible (and can prove it as they have in this thread) than a journalist for a respected Pittsburgh news source.

You guys are getting way too bent out of shape over this article. What did you want this guy to write about . . . the Pirates?

He can write about the Steelers all he wants, but when he reaches so far to attack the fanbase that has given the Steelers the most grief in recent months, it makes it pretty obvious that he wasn't just writing this to fill space. He wanted to elicit a fiery reaction, and in that light, he succeeded. He failed in the delivery, however, and most people out there can see that with no difficulty.

Right. Which is why you're all reacting to it so calmly.

NO, I GUESS WHAT I AM REACTING TO IS HOW LONG IT IS GOING TO TAKE FOR ALL SQUEALERS FANS TO STOP SQUIRMING IN SQUEALERDOM. YOU HAVE ENJOYED OUR FANS SQUIRMING SINCE JANUARY AND NOW I CAN ENJOY YOUR HEARTACHE REGARDING THE UNKOWN. I AM NOT ENJOYING THE HEARTACHE REGARDING BEN'S INJURIES. IT SUCKS TO HAVE THE LIGHT OF YOUR EYE DIMMED FOR AN INDETERMINATE AMOUNT OF TIME, DOESN'T IT? SINCE YOU ARE MORE WORRIED WHEN HE WILL BE ABLE TO PERFORM ON THE FIELD VS. ANY LONGSTANDING NEUROLOGIC INJURIES. I AM NOT HAPPY WHATSOEVER THAT BEN GOT HURT.........WE ALL AGREE HE IS VERY LUCKY AND HOPE THAT IN THE FUTURE IF/WHEN HE GETS BACK ON A BIKE THAT HE WEARS A HELMET. AS A HUMAN BEING, LET'S BE THANKFUL HE MAY BE ABLE TO RIDE AGAIN.

IN THE PRECEDING PARAGRAPH, YOU/YOUR MEANS A GENERAL RELATION TO ALL SQUEALER FANS. THIS IS NOT DIRECTED IN PARTICULAR TO YOU, YOURSELF.

My words are only intended for those who demonstrated this behavior during this time of human crisis and are now chided by their own guilt as they were called out by a major media outlet.

Called out in a flawed article said to have been written in a lighthearted manner, and then taken far too seriously by oddly wounded Steeler fans. What should concern you more is the fact that the host of a Pittsburgh radio talk show went on a national media outlet and admitted that Steeler fans not only showed almost no sincere concern for Ben's health beyond his ability to play football, but those fans also have a long habit of injecting themselves to a ridiculous degree into every story that concerns local teams.

Check yourself, because we're not the ones who have collectively crapped our pants in reaction to an accident that by most accounts won't cost Ben a single regular season start.

I GUESS RAY RAY FITTIPALDO CAN TWIST THE CONTEXT OF THE HEADER IN THE FOLLOWING ARTICLE IN THE CINCINNATI ENQUIRER POSTED ABOUT CARSON PALMER TODAY:

Palmer: 'I felt good'

BY MARK CURNUTTE | ENQUIRER STAFF WRITER

Palmer: 'I felt good'

BY MARK CURNUTTE | ENQUIRER STAFF WRITER

Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer participated in seven-on-seven pass drills this morning in minicamp practice, the first time he has faced a defense since injuring his left knee Jan. 8 against the Steelers.

“I felt good. I felt confident with my reads, confident with what I was doing on the field, didn’t quite feel athletic and fluid like I should and normally am,” he said.

“And that’s going to take a while to get the rust off and just get the strength and all the balance back. But it was a first good opportunity to get back on the field and throw against the defense and doing quarterback drills. Overall it was a good first day.”

Palmer said he resisted driving hard back from center in his backpedal and, for the first time in his career, is realizing he has limitations in how much he can do physically.

Teammates were enthused by Palmer’s performance.

“Nothing happened to his arm,” said wide receiver Chad Johnson, who caught a 45-yard fly pass from Palmer.

Right tackle Willie Anderson said the entire offense got a lift from seeing Palmer on the field.

“He stepped right in and had great command of the huddle,” Anderson said.

Before practice, Bengals head trainer Paul Sparling said Palmer is ahead of schedule in his rehab from major knee surgery, a "model patient" and has only experienced "minor bumps in the road.”

Sparling said the coaches, trainers and front office remain "cautiously optimistic" that Palmer would be able to play in the opener Sept. 10 at Kansas City.

"He comes into the training room and asks, `What’s next?’" Sparling said of Palmer’s attitude in rehab. "We’ve never had to push him, not once. He tells us what’s bothering him, what’s sore."

Palmer has worked on drop-back movements, thrown and shuffled over ground pads to improve his agility.

Sparling also said wide receiver Chris Henry (knee sprain) and running back Chris Perry (knee surgery in April) were not cleared for minicamp.

Middle linebacker Odell Thurman was not at practice. Word on the sidelines was Thurman was excused for personal reasons.

E-mail mcurnutte@enquirer.com

I'M SURE HE WOULD SAY THE HEADER MEANS CARSON FELT GOOD ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED TO BEN, WHEN IN ALL ACTUALITY THE ARTICLE IS TALKING ABOUT HOW CARSON FEELS ABOUT TAKING HIS RECENT SNAPS.

Thanks , fellow Cincy fans, for showing your maturity levels.

I sadly have to say that the steelers fan and Ben are the only ones showing any sort of brain activity.

GOOD TO SEE YOU DIDN'T INCLUDE YOURSELF AS BEING INCLUDED IN THE SUM OF THOSE SHOWING ANY BRAIN ACTIVITY IN YOUR LAST POST.
