WhiteDawg Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Sports Illustrated has compiled their list of the top 15 most exciting athletes. Look who is sitting pretty at 12. See if you agree with the list, I don't..... http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedi.../content.4.html Quote
ChadJohnson-85 Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Terrell Owens @ No. 6? That should be Chad Johnson.http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedi...content.10.htmlMichael Vick @ No. 10? That should be Peyton Manning, Tom Brady or Carson Palmer.http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedi.../content.6.html Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 How on earth does ANY golfer get on the list of EXCITING players? Come on man, the only sport more BORING to watch than golf is.... ok, there is none! Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Vick - most overrated QB in recent history, when not scrambling away from passes he can't make, he's in the trainer's roomOwens - not very exciting to watch sitting at home on the couchAnd yes there's nothing exciting, or even athletic, about golf or golfers. This is a sport where teenage girls are now competing with pot-belled, middle aged men with mullets and alcohol problems. Quote
Stripes Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 I can agree with #1, but after that it gets lame. Quote
jditty47 Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 how can u agree with #1. Kobe is 10x more exciting of a player than Lebron. Are u kidding me? He has off the court issues, on the court issues, coach issues, teammate issues, and he is the only man that is capable of doing what jordan could do. Nothing tame about Kobe, alot about Lebron's boring ass. Hes good on the court yes, but hes a less flashy Magic. Never even would have him on the list, if i did he would be mb 10th at the highest. Quote
CJBestInAFC Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 I don't know I think Wade should be 1 or 2. He is a better player than Lebron and Wade's team is in the finals, not Lebron's. I would have to disagree with the Bonds choice. Yeah he got the HRs but he really isn't that exciting to watch play. He is on the downside of his career and that just isn't that exciting. Tiger is too high. Yeah he has won a lot, but what has he done in the last 2 yeas. He isn't dominating like he used to and Lefty has been more exciting to watch lately. Quote

I think we differ in our definition of the term "exciting." All of Kobe's non-basketball jargon involving off the field issues and his relations to the coaching staff and front office are more "annoying" in my opinion than they are "exciting." As far as pure athletic excitement goes, he is certainly still an exciting player. I don't think he's as exciting as LeBron or Wade though. "Excitement" is not a measurable, however, so nobody can be right in this discussion. It's just a matter of opinion. Quote
Dadraftnick Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 Golf ??? Yeah, I know that Tiger Woods is good at Golf but, I would rather watch paint dry than watch golf.As far as that goes baseball or NBA is not for behind. The only people on the most exciting atheletes should be form the NFL and the list should have Carson Palmer somewhere on it. Quote
BengalsMan3203 Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 And yes there's nothing exciting, or even athletic, about golf or golfers. This is a sport where teenage girls are now competing with pot-belled, middle aged men with mullets and alcohol problems. You are rather crazy my friend. I have yet to see a women even come close to competing with these " pot-belled, middle aged men with mullets and alcohol problems."You took one person, and generalized the whole sport.. John Daly... Give me a break.. Just think if people would do that to the NFL... Everyone would be a rasict killer, or a drug dealer, drunk driver... ECT. You get the point...Why don't you get some knowledge of the sport before you go running your pie hole about it. Quote

HoTbOy Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 I can agree with #1, but after that it gets lame. I agree DWade #2 KBryant #3, TOwens does not make nearly the acrobatic catches that CJohnson does, and why no NASCAR drivers, I like racing, I think that it's exciting...I love to golf, but as for and exciting athlete ...I love the NYMets also so PMartinez you can stay... bengalboomer7 Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 Golf may be boring to watch, but it's one of if not THE hardest sport to play. The stategy and mental toughness involved in competitve golf shouldn't be underestimated. You know how much pressure 50,000 screaming fans are, well, imagine 50,000 silent ones, all staring at YOU Quote
futurebengal08 Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 How can anyone say that Vick is not an exciting athlete? I've asked a lot of Bengals fans which games they want to go to this year, and they all say Pittsburgh and Atlanta. I dare you to blink when Vick has the ball in his hands. He's what I consider the most exciting player in football. I disagree with the Tiger Woods pick. I understand how meticulous golf is, but that doesn't make it exciting. I'm surprised not to see a NASCAR driver on there, even though i can't watch more than two laps of any given race. Kobe should be higher than Lebron and Dwyane. Quote
7/11 Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 i like the list...wade's a little overrated in terms of his excitability, but i agree with lebron, tiger, t.o., chad, vick (even though he's not a good player, he's exciting to watch)... Quote
Kazkal Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 It's Exciting not best So Vick should be higher then manning,Also TO is plenty exciting (when on the field)....though chad should be top 5BengalsMan3203 your icon makes me happy in the pantsHow can anyone say that Vick is not an exciting athlete? BengalsMan3203 Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 If you watch sports center... Then you have the background of most golfers...How could you NOT get excited when Tiger Chiped in on 17 2 years ago at Augsta? To pretty much win another Green jacket? How about when Phil Mickelson makes that huge putt on 18 to win his 1st major?Even the late, great Payne Stweart put on 18 at the US Open...ALl those event gives me chills till this day.... Not to call golf exciting... THen you've been wathcing the wrong touraments. Quote
PakMan Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 How about when Phil Mickelson makes that huge putt on 18 to win his 1st major? And then jumped up and down with manboobs flapping in the wind. I love Golf, but its not very exciting to watch...entertaining, memorable, but not exciting. Quote

cincy9275 Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 lebron and d-wade are way way more exciting to watch then kobe . and take shaq away from the heat and i very seriously doubt they would be even close to what they are . lebron won 50 games with little help and almost beat the pistons with no help . kobe and d-wade are all stars lebron is superstar kobe could not do what lebron has done this past season with basically the same talent level of team . and the only reason the heat are as good as they are is because d-wade has a better supporting cast around him. you are seriously fooling your self's if you think these two are better than james Quote

My average was 4 over and I never varied much more than 3-4 shots either way. Hitting a baseball is the toughest thing in sports to do, but it is still boring to watch on TV. Quote
