Stripes
Who's left? Davy Jones? It's looking more and more like Ghent will make the roster.

Tasher
hey, it says that we got some good folks on the roster if they cannot be unseated.Methinks that the reason that the TEs don't look like better pass catchers is that they rarely get the ball thrown in their direction.I don't seem to recall any drops of balls thrown to them, but I do remember a key TD and a key first down in the squealer game in december that went to the TEs. I think our guys will be just fine, thanks.
Kazkal
No I think its actually our TE's just can block and mybe catch 3yard dump off =P On bengals.com I've heard every reason why reggie kelly is a receiver threat we just dont use him that way : P no hes not theres a reason why matt led the TE's every year in yards because the other 2 can't catch they can block and only block which I'm all up for but would have been nice to have 1 out of 3 not be a undersized linemen clone.....Hell I'm really suprised the bengals wearn't after Kyle Turley like a madman.... heres hoping the bengals can get graham from the pats

Can they catch over the shoulder passes while being covered by a safety? No.
GapControl
The Bengals "We have Meaningless TEs" Mystery continues....
Kazkal
If this is how its gonna down I really woulden't mind using one of our linemen as backup TE just to make it easier too keep 10 sense we'll lose 2 starters next year
Spor_tees
TE for the Bengals means "Tackle Eligible" not Tight End!
jditty47
ya i dont mind that we dont have a recieving TE threat as long as we have Chris Perry in the backfield on alot of 3rd downs and we have 3 very good wideouts on our roster that are healthy. one day it would be nice to not have to worry about it though...but hey, we have 1 position to worry about now...think how many other teams have... Kazkal
Aye mybe the year we have no other holes on roster it would just be nice toy have but ya with our super deep WR core+ perry we can live without one till the day comes

ArmyBengal
Just another year of non-factor TE's... What's new ??? It's a subject to discuss, yes, but it hasn't changed in how many years ?? Many thought with Schobel gone, the position would be looked at hard and maybe it would have, had certain players not been taken earlier than expected by the Bengals organization, but it is what it is and I guess we just have to wait for next year. Come to think of it, seeing how little this concerns most of the organization, it wouldn't suprise me to see it take a backseat again...WHODEY !!! bengalboomer7
Chalk me up as happy. Dual tight ends are just too hard to find. Tony Gonzalez can't block very well, neither can Antonio Gates. You use them mainly as recieving threats or as blockers. Few teams have one that does both exceptionally. We already have plenty of weapons so the Bengals choose to use blockers, not pass catchers. And I'm perfectly fine with that

blueridge
I think its obvious by now that the Bengals don't give a good goddam about the TE position. They don't draft one in the richest TE draft in years and 3 of the 4 undrafted free agent rookie TEs have already been cut. The only, and I really mean only, reason that a stiff like Tony Stewart and a special teams project like Ronnie Ghent cold possibly be listed on an NFL roster as TEs is that the Bengals place almost no priority on the position.
