AMC Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 It looks to be set up as Ethan Kilmer vs. Anthony Mitchell for a spot on the roster. Who would you go with????? Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Kilmer to the practice squad.... Quote
TJJackson Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 I am coming around (now that he is rated as a S rather than a WR) on Kilmer, whose speed and enthusiasm on special teams should make him a bigger contributor than MitchellI really think it is more a Body vs Kilmer battle, with Body the likely loser Quote
ArmyBengal Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Yep, I think Kilmer goes to the practice squad. He has little experience and no true position to speak of. Mitchell will win this one...WHODEY !!! Quote
Spor_tees Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 I'l go with Kilmer because they used a draft pick on him, his youth, and he will cost less than Mitchell. Trivia Question for you: Name the last Bengal's draft pick to get cut the same year he was drafted without making the openning day roster? The answer to that will give you a little more insight into whether he will make the team or not. I don't remember now. Did Maurice Mann make it? I remember he was sent to the PS pretty early on, and grabbed by another team. Probably more reason that our draftees will make the team... because we won't want someone else to steal them from us... but I think Mann is the answer to that question. By the way... he was a 5th rounder, so I wouldn't be so sure that Kilmer is a lock... even though I still beleive he makes the team, and ultimately is our most impactful rookie (since special teams are so underrated) Quote
Stripes Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 We're already thin at safety, so it'd be tough to cut any veteran depth at the position, no matter how much Mitchell sucks. Kilmer was a less-than part time safety at Penn State, and I doubt he makes it over Mitchell. I think he'll be on the practice squad, but he'll be one of the first guys to be called up if necessary. bengalboomer7 Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 I wouldn't say we're thin at safety, just untested. Kilmer will be fighting Body, Mitchell, and Indiana Jones for a spot on the roster. Tough call, but I'll go with Kilmer just based on his automatic plug into the special teams, but in reality, I have no idea Quote

Value players at other positions ignored.14 days, 19 hours, 17 minutes. And he was projected as a DB when he got picked. Quote
TJJackson Posted May 16, 2006 Report Posted May 16, 2006 *shrug* I never saw that....everything I read said we had drafted a WRI still rate the overall draft an "F", mind you, but what's wrong with me coming around on Kilmer? Keep in mind my love for good special teams play (look ever so slightly to the left) Quote
