GapControl
http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art.../605060344/1066The Enquirer reports today that the Bengals have signed 15 college free agents. Of the guys signed (pardon, only local guys are listed in the article), who has the best chance of making the team? Which of the 8 draft picks or active players would be dropped to make room, if anyone?Ryan Hamby, TE OSU, is my personal choice to displace one of the draft picks, (perhaps 1 of the 2 7th rounders) then come on the 53 man roster as a TE. Maybe Hamby. I would guess that a few of these guys will make the practice squad.
Kazkal
Hamby would only make it because of buckeye homerness then again fans may hate that after costing them the texans game
bengalbutch
No way Hamby makes the team. The UNLV, Texas Tech and LSU tight ends are all better than hands of stone Hamby.I still can see him missing the block ( not even getting a hand on him ) on Tamba Hali. Letting Troy get sacked ending OSU's chances against Penn St.It wasn't just the Texas drop, the dude dropped passes all season long.
TJJackson
Eric Henderson will make the team, and possibly even start, assuming he is healthy through camp and at the start of the season. One tight endOne safety
Tasher
are you talking only about the UDFAs?Probably the safety and the TEs, of the TEs, I would probably say the Estandia and Hamby have the best shot of sticking, but Olomua has nice size and Jones has a pretty good rep coming out of college.I think that it is going to be incredibly hard for any newcomer to make the 53 man roster this year, period. BengalChamps
I know this isnt fair, but i cant get the dropped pass by Hamby out of my mind. I dont think he is fast enough to make a ST contribution. So... I dont think he makes it. The punter has the best chance of any of them of sticking. Spor_tees
I think Chad Johnson and Carson Palmer will make the team

Never know.
GapControl
DE Erik Henderson is listed as the #3 UCFA available according to Scouts Inc. Erik Meyer QB Eas. Wash. also gets props as a nice addition to the Bengals training camp jubilee. Does anyone know how the scout team QBs are chosen? Of the QBs signed, who will run the scout teams? Stripes
I'd put my money on none of them making the team. The best candidates (among the UDFAs) as I see it are Henderson, Estandia, and the punter.
Kazkal
I'll bet 10,000 Zone dollars Estandia makes the team henderson probbley makes it but is put on IR till next season
walshfan
Gut feeling is that Bennie doesnt make it...Not crazy about any of these tight ends.. Ronnie Ghent has a better chance of playing than they do..I think AJ Nicholson is the best player taken after J-Joe ...Think he'll have more of an impact than anyone when its all said and done....
