Me too, and Quinten looks good

To throw this topic in a different direction, why haven't they pushed hard for Griff to change positions. He's still a great CF, but his legs are obviously starting(and starting is putting it nicely) to fail him. Why not move him to LF or first base? At least if he's at first, we might get 140 games a year out of him. It not his defense we need anyways, it's his bat.

I love having Freel in center, he has much better range that Griffey. I wouldn't mind putting Griffey at first, but he has no previous experience there, and I wouldn't want to leave Hatteburg on the bench when he's been hitting well lately. It seems the only way to make it work is to have Griffey in center.

Freel might be the odd man out... I doubt he gets much playing time over Dunn or Kearns, and he won't be subbing for Encarnacion, Lopez, or Phillips anytime soon. It sucks too, he's an excellent lead off hitter and is the speed in our lineup.

your kidding youself if you think freel will be nothing but a pine rider . the guy can play and do a good job where ever he plays

I said I like having him on the field, but once Griffey is back, where will you put him? The corner outfields are both pretty much locked up while Kearns and Dunn are healthy. First base is currently occupied by the hot hitting Hatteburg, and second base is the same story with Brandon Phillips. They won't move Lopez and his good defense/contact hitting from shortstop. Freel may get some time over Encarnacion at third, simply because of Edwin's early trouble with errors... But then you're dropping the team's RBI leader from the lineup.

Freel's one of my favorite players, but Griffey's return puts him in a bad position.

I think they are working on a trade involving one of the catchers. I think they will keep Griffey out for a few more days trying to get a deal done. Tha's what I hope at least.

Maybe. According to Marc Lancaster's blog, Junior will not be activated tonight.

Makes sense. Junior has a terrible lifetime average against Oswalt (something in the .150s I believe), but has hit over .300 against Pettite, whom will be pitching Saturday.

In fact, the only guy in the Reds lineup that has ever had consistent success against Oswalt is Freel (5 for 14 with 5 walks).

I say it will be Cody Ross the guy they just picked up.

I think he is out of options which means they would have to designate him for assignment and would probably lose him. Not sure if they are willing to do that.

Oh, thanks for the info I didnt know that... :sure:

Isn't the bigger question with Juniors return here is for how long this time? It's not like his attendance record with the Reds as a healthy player is all that stellar ya' know... <_<

Would anyone care to argue the point that he could go on the DL again at any time? That's the point!
