Vernon Davis available at #24, dare to dream. All three mocks have Bobby Carpenter going to the Giants at #25. I don't think he will make it past the Pats, but if he is there and Davis is gone (which he will be) you can't pass on B-Carp.

I saw the Vernon Davis mock on CBS and laughed...hard.

Many are now projecting Davis as a top 7 pick. Most have him going to the Niners.

I not in favor of offense at all in the first, but one pick that might keep a hot poker spoon out of my eyes would be Mangold. I wouldn't be thrilled, but I'd know we had another ten year starting center.

I'm on board with whoever they pick; we are all going to be surprised. Either somebody is going to unexpectedly slip to #24, or the Bengals are going to trade down.

I'm seeing more love for C-Carp. The thought of a LB corp of Thurman, Carpenter in Pollack for the next 10 years....nothing but wood.

Glad to hear it... The Sportcenter mock draft show yesterday had the Bengals taking Mercedes Lewis in the 1st round. I'd be pretty bummed if we went offense in the first round... but even more so if we went with Pope or Lewis. I don't think they are first-round quality.

You bet... When so many of them have us magically landing Davis, Bunkley, or Ngata... Maybe there is some substance to those predictions. Probably not, but screw that whole probability thing.

there are only 3 things you get when you draft

1. a starter

2. role players or backup's

3. special-teamers

i for one am not up for wasting high draft picks on backup's and specialteamer or could be's. mangold and carpenter are starters and they should be on the bengals radar if they are there we they pick

We were talking about someone falling to us earlier and yes, it always happens that way. There will be a trade or someone who was talking about how all they want is a WR and it gets pounded that it's the only position they want, will end up taking a DT. Things always get changed up. I can't wait !!!
