Who Dey Time
I know its off the Lance blog (read at your own risk), but it does say that Eric Steinbach is close to signing an extension.Could be more good news heading into the draft. WHO-DEY!
derekshank
If this is true... and I really hope that it is, I can say in unison with a TV great:Best Offseason Ever!
Larry
would be great, thought it might be him instead of levi, considering this years salary

BlainThePain
If this is true, I'll probably end up buying a Steinbach jersey this year.
ShulaSteakhouse
I want Steinbach more than Levi (because Levi will be severely over-paid and is overrated and too often banged up/injured).Lance's insider lists Donte Whitner and Jason Allen at the top of his list - please God what do they see in a prospect with a degenerative hip who can't stay healthy? I don't get it. I do love Whitner though, and the fact he can play CB or S in the NFL.Just a big risk with Allen - best upside DB potential in the draft possibly -but a 1st round pick on a guy with that kind of ? mark, wow. I notice Mangold was curiously left off their list? Hmmm.....

The_Next_Big_Thing
bye-bye, Levi?hello, first rounder Eric Winston?Naw, you don't expect the entire line to get extensions this year. The important thing is that we get the others signed as free agents next season. I'm sure everyone is on the same page with we want ALL of you here for the long haul and are taking the next year to get everyone's deals done. First come, first served on extensions. ArmyBengal
bye-bye, Levi?hello, first rounder Eric Winston? First, we still have money and tags that can be used on Levi and if we go offensive line in the 1st, I may hurt someone !!!WHODEY !!! Braham isn't signed, and if anyone here thinks Guichiac is starting NFL center material, they're clueless!! (he's junk)I'll take an o-lineman in the 1st round every year! Without the big uglies upfront, this team is nothing.

No one else this year has shut down Freeney the way Levi did. You can say he is beat up a little too often, but to say that a rookie would produce better than him is just ignorant. Levi Jones is a pro-bowl caliber LT. We could trade up to get D'Brickashaw Ferguson and we wouldn't get the production we get out of Levi. Ferguson may end up being better by the end of his career... but not his rookie season. He's too small and struggles as a run blocker, and from what I've read could be vulnerable to bull rushes in the NFL. He'e the very best LT, probably going top 5, and you're telling me than any 1st rounder will produce as good as Levi? You've lost a lot of credibility with me. Dude, Levi had a stellar season shutting down the pass rush from his side... SHUT DOWN !!! Did you happen to see who he went up against week in and week out ?? Studs, all of them and not one got to Carson !!! Ok, so you're not sold on Guycheck, but to say he's junk is way off as well... Did you watch the game he started against the Jags ?? He went up against quite possibly the best DT tandem in the NFL and did more than hold his own !!! Yes, you can always use o-line help and depth, but to say in the 1st round EVERY year ?? What are we Detroit ?? I for one love what we have done to improve our defense, but lets be real for a minute and take a look at both Jackson and Big Sam. Both are what ?? 33 years old this year ?? Neither one are long term solutions and I have to think that both positions are still going to be addressed in the draft. The d-line and DB's are where they should focus in my opinion !!!WHODEY !!!
