Whur CHad At?
According to KFFL, the Bengals are $12 mill under the cap...Shouldn't have a problem keeping all of our OLINE intact now! Plus, NY Giants were $3.7 mill under before the LaVar signing...kind of makes you wonder if we should of made a play for him due to the cap friendly contract he recieved...but enough of thatDon't know if this has already been posted but oh f**king well... TJJackson
Well, Hobson will of course tell you they hold out the entire rookie pool, reserve against injury and/or grievance settlements, reserve agaisnt an increase in the price of first class postage, reserve against every player meeting every perfomance incentive, etc etc etc so really all they have left after you take all that into account is enough to have dinner with Chad down at the local McDonalds, as long as there's no supersizing. ArmyBengal
Exactly, with offers on the table to two of our top linemen, I'm not concerned as much, but I just want to see it get done and move on with players intact for a few more years !!!WHODEY !!! He'll probably play 3-4 years under that contract, and when all is said and done, get about $5.5M/yr Not bad, but he ain't seeing $49M. With the cap being what it is for us and the LaVar contract being less impressive than originally thought, it has to make you wonder how interested Marvin REALLY was ?? I still think the o-line gets addressed first and then see what else we need to do from there !!!WHODEY !!!

Not to hijack this into another LaVar thread (I know how much you just *love* those, Army! ) but per the local press up here in Joisey LaVar turned dwn a "slightly" more lucrative offer to sgn with the Giants. The other team isn't ID'd but it is believed to be the Packers.

For as much as I would love to let this die, I just found it odd that he signed for something that could've been within our doing and what that says about how he was viewed from the get go !!!WHODEY !!!
