futurebengal08 Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 It doesn't look like McNair will be staying in Tennessee. Baltimore will probably jump all over this, but does anybody think that we could or should show some interest? He's still a decent qb, definitely knows the ropes, had decent numbers last year (16 TDs, 11 INTs, 61.3 comp. %), and even played in the pro bowl (ha). I think this would be a great pick-up...a veteran that may be willing to sit when Carson gets healthy. This move could also allow us to sit Carson until at least the bye, making sure he doesnt rush back, without leaving games in the hands of Krenzel or Johnson. I like it, wouldn't mind seeing it happen. Quote
Stripes Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 I am sure the Bengals will show at least minimal interest in McNair as they have with so many other quarterbacks this offseason, but I doubt we get him. He will want to start for the season and will demand a contract worthy of a starter. I think he ends up with the Ravens, ending Kyle Boller's stellar career in Baltimore. Quote
Ox Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 Even though McNair is aging, it doesn't mean he'll be willing to take a seat after week 3. No way he'll come this way. Quote
Spor_tees Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 If the Bengals were able to sign Steve McNair, it'll start raining beer and hot naked chicks in Cincinnati. Quote
BlainThePain Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 If the Bengals were able to sign Steve McNair, it'll start raining beer and hot naked chicks in Cincinnati. And I'll be moving to Cincinnati. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 If the Bengals were able to sign Steve McNair, it'll start raining beer and hot naked chicks in Cincinnati. And that would effectively end my Military Career as I would be going AWOL (Absent WithOut Leave) that same day !!!Anyway, I think McNair in Baltimore would be something to be concerned about. He is still a far better QB than Boller ever will be, regardless of injuries, and would be an upgrade considering the defense is still pretty good. The other thought to this is it would team him back up with D. Mason who came over from the Titans. That was a pretty good QB / WR combo in Tennessee !!!WHODEY !!! Quote
Spor_tees Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 If he came to Cincinnati we could see what it would be like to see McNair throw the ball to Chad... ...since we didn't see it happen in the Pro-Bowl. And now that I think of it...raining hot naked chicks might not be all that great...what good would a hot naked chick be once she splatterred all over the ground after falling from the sky? Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 McNair is old and done, he might make a good backup for a few games, but I'm not a fan of signing him. Heck, we could just as easily get Boomer to come back and play a few games for us. He's got as much arm left as Bare McNair. Quote
redsbengalsbucks Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 Put me in the no way in hell group, this reminds me of Neil "washed up" O'Donnel coming to town.Boomer or Elway would both be better choices for a couple of games. Quote
semiotter Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 Didnt Tn just not want him to practice because they didnt want him to chance getting hurt so they wouldnt take a big hit on the cap if he dont get to play??? But they could of handled it alot better... Quote
MacD BengalFan Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 And now that I think of it...raining hot naked chicks might not be all that great...what good would a hot naked chick be once she splatterred all over the ground after falling from the sky? Thanks for ruining that wonderful fantasy. Now I have no reason to come to Cincy anytime soon.I think Air McNair would be a good choice to step in for Carson. But I agree that he would not be willing to sit when Carson is ready to come back. So unfortunately, we are still stuck with some has been QB to back up Carson.I hope the beer that is falling is not Hudipol (sic). Then the fantasy would then be completely destroyed. Quote
Larry Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 Not even if we gave him the moon would he come here to sit. Quote
