jjakq27
http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art...090365/1067/SPTAs much as I like Brett Favre, I think it is time for him to retire. He is stringing his team along which is hurting them. It is all about him and that is not what team sports is about regardless of how great he was.He says he wants to see what kind of moves GB will make and if they are capable of being a contender again but his play the last two years is one of the reasons they have taken a dive. Poor decision making and terrible mechanics have made him look barely passible as an NFL QB at times. If his name were Akili Smith or Joey Harrington, he would have been gone after last year.If he wants to play, he should have to earn it. It should be open season for the QB spot in GB if he stays. Otherwise retire and let the Packers move on.
NJ29
He needs to retire before everyone hates him.... because he's starting to piss me off.
Folz
I knew something was wrong with him when he hinted that he was pissed they didn't get TO.
ArmyBengal
I just hate to see a player of his caliber and his history to the game go out like a rolling turd... I think it's a real shame personally. Either make the team better or move on, but quit dinking about it !!!WHODEY !!!
andybren
I don't care how good a player is, if he's not sure if he wants to play, he shouldn't play. GB are in a no-win situation. Either they look evil for pushing him out the door, or they welcome back a grumpy old man who keeps them from developing Aaron Rodgers. BengalPappaw
Okay -- I've resisted commenting because of my respect for what Farve has done over the years as a player. However, in the past few years, I have lost a lot of respect for Farve as a person. His refusal to help the younger QBs in their development -- "because they are trying to replace me." Shows a selfish, self-centered attitude that is NOT good for any team!In my mind, it is too late for Farve to retire with dignity -- he should retire his selfish attitude and get out of the news. I, for one, am tired of hearing him or about him. He lost my support when he refused to be a team player.RETIRE FARVE -- NOW
ArmyBengal
The question is, when do they intend on bringing up their 1st round QB in Aaron Rogers ??? Favre needs to make a decision and quit BS'ing...WHODEY !!!
jjakq27
His refusal to help the younger QBs in their development -- "because they are trying to replace me." Shows a selfish, self-centered attitude that is NOT good for any team! The same thing happened in Frisco with Joe Montana and Steve Young. Eventually Young's talent surpassed Montana at that stage in his career and Joe ended up in KC for a few years. Stuff like this makes Jon Kitna's attitude and professionalism even more noteworthy.I am not sure Rogers is better than Favre at this point but I wonder if anyone would give Favre a shot at a starting job if he were released by GB. TecmoFever
I wonder how Monday Night Football will react if Favre does retire. It serves them right for putting a 4-12 team on its schedule at all, let alone twice. For the record, it's F-A-V-R-E, not F-A-R-V-E. I know he's only been around for fifteen years and is the most recognizable name in the game, but maybe it's time to start spelling it right. I heard they are going to be in two or three this year. They were 4-12 last year. Too bad Akili Smith never became a household word or we might have had three games during our 2-14 season. The "mispelling" in the title was done intentionally. It's just a joke son.....I just think it's funny how the pronunciation was "changed" because, somewhere along the way, one of his ancestors decided they had trouble pronouncing it the French way. ArmyBengal
Who cares if we mispell his name ??? Favor is being VERY assholish and needs to quit being such a d*ckhead. Yeah I don't get the bashing of your teammates the year before to do the same thing the next...WHODEY !!!
Whur CHad At?
Like I said, he is just doing it for the media attention. He wants everyone to care about him, he wants all of the spotlight. T.O. wannabe. Just retire and move your old dumb hillbilly ass to the hall of fame
jjakq27
http://www.lance1360homer.com/blog.aspLance has even picked this one up as his poll question today. He asks, "Do you believe Brett Favre is being selfish by not giving the Packers a decision on his future?" 76% have said yes so far. This is one of those, "we sucked with you, and we can suck without you, for a lot less," kind of questions. (See Pickens, Carl, after 1999).
Stripes
Call it quits, Brett. You've played through your best years and have solidified yourself as a Hall of Famer. The team will now be better off without you, as bad as that sounds, but show some respect and just go.I don't know why I am speaking to you as though you're listening. MacD BengalFan
When he said "what are going to do, cut me?". The ax should have fallen then. That is arrogance that he has not shown except on the field the past few years and the Packers should have sent him packing then. He needs to go home and take care of his family. The NFL has enough bad QB's that he will not be missed. He constantly thinks anytime he throws the ball, no matter how many defenders are around the reciever, it will be completed. Thus, 30 INT's last season, including 5 in one game against Cincy. GO HOME BACK TO LOUISIANA Brett and enjoy your life.
ArmyBengal
He's from Hattiesburg, MS and since he's going to be in the Hall of Fame, it's about time people start remembering where he's from !!!**Sarcasm Off**Seriously though, who gives a F*CK ???WHODEY !!!
