GROIIIDayton
Lances' BlogCincinnati will host Pittsburgh in a Monday night game and will travel to Indianapolis for a late season Saturday night affair.I've also been told a Sunday Night home game is on the docket for them....not sure of opponent.Don't be surprised if it's Carolina in an effort to showcase Steve Smith and Chad Johnson.Also......I'm told this morning the Benglas have tried to get in on trade talks with Atlanta for QB Matt Schauwb. Problem.....Minnesota has interest and has more to offer. Bengals are leery of trading picks that could hinder a possible deal to move up for a "top 15" pick they like. The Bengals believe he is, "A Carson protoype at 6-5, 237....live arm.....great pocket presence. His ability to read defenses is impressive. His poise is impressive. He never gets rattled."He will be a restricted free agent in 2007. Stripes
The Falcons would almost scare me more if they started Schaub instead of Vick. The primetime possibilities listed here all seem logical, and would be a joy to see. I don't expect the Bengals to make a real run at Shaub though. ArmyBengal
Schaub would be great and his name has been floated quite a few times, but again can't see it happening due to what would have to be given up to get him. Atlanta is not stupid, they know what they have in Schaub and aren't just going to let him go cheaply...Hinder a possible deal to move up to around #15 ??? Hmmmm, makes you wonder who that target wouold be ???WHODEY !!!
Folz
I read that there is no way the Atlanta would give up Shaub. Vick is way to injury prone. NOT GONNA HAPPEN
GROIIIDayton
I heard the same thing about Atlanta and Schauwb. I think it is possible Vick might want out of Atlanta next year if things don't go well. I hope we are not trading up for Ngata, I think he is over rated. derekshank
They are clearly trading up to get Vince Young. The Bengals have been spending the whole offseason trying to hide the fact that Carson Palmer had to have his leg amputated.
turningpoint
Well lance was correct on us not resigning walter and us cutting Herring. He was wrong on the LAVAR deal, but hey a lot of people assumed he was visiting.
kingwilly
...moving up to 15?With guys like Sims and Lawson flying up the board, maybe it could be one of those two....or maybe they want to make a play for Bunkley...or, dare we say it, an offensive lineman like Justice?I think Lawson would be a very good replacement for Simmons, even though he is more suited for a 3-4....huh? HairOnFire
I'm pretty sure a move from #24 to #15 would cost the Bengals a 2nd round draft pick...so the player they're targeting has to be a prospect without warts of any kind...as well as a totally unique player whose skills are unlike anyone else playing his position. Vernon Davis.
DC_Bengals_Fan
Well lance was correct on us not resigning walter and us cutting Herring. He was wrong on the LAVAR deal, but hey a lot of people assumed he was visiting.Well....figuring that the Bengals wouldn't match what the Texans gave Walter, and figuring we'd cut Kim "The Injury" Herring doesn't exactly take a crystal ball. kingwilly
Boy, that would be a score and I'd love for that to happen but Vernon Davis will be gone by 10...probably by 7.If we somehow got to grab Davis, it would be amazing.
Stripes
Heck I don't want to trade up for anyone, and probably never will. I hate trading up.

Vernon Davis. That was the player I had kicking around, however a move to 15 would yield possibilities of some pretty impressive guys even if Davis was gone by then. If it was Davis on the radar and no one else was worth moving up to that spot for, then you'd have to figure it would be a Draft Day trade, probably agreed to ahead of time but not done until the 14th pick or even during the 15th pick. That way if a guy isn't there that Cincy wanted desperately then they could back out...or if Davis, Bunkley, Huff, Bing, or someone of that level is there then they pull the trigger on the deal and make the pick. They are clearly trading up to get Vince Young. The Bengals have been spending the whole offseason trying to hide the fact that Carson Palmer had to have his leg amputated.I hope this was just a joke and you don't really believe they are going after Young?? The_Next_Big_Thing
I heard we were trading up to get Chuck Norris! If we sign Chuck Norris, it will be so clear that we are moving to a 3-4 defense!
GROIIIDayton
C.O.Bengal Bing will be avalible at 24 and even then I would be pissed if we took him. Hell if he was avalible at 55 I don't want him.
Folz
Heck, if we had chuck norris, all we would have to do is round house teams into submission.

Hell if he was avalible at 55 I don't want him.Not a Bing fan??? Well, he's not a cover safety in any sense, but he's good against the run and he could hang with most TE's (not Davis) I just wouldn't try use him 1 on 1 with a WR.Maybe he'd be a better OLB and we could move Pollack back to DE. Thats if he's around and the Bengals decided to take him. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather had Whitner or Bullocks if we go Saftey in rd 1 and they are still available, but I certainly would'nt be pissed or even upset if the Bengals ended up with Bing. ArmyBengal
Thinking about who we might be "targeting" at #15 and came up with this:DT- Ngata or BunkleyI would think they would be just as happy at getting Watson as opposed to giving up picks, but this would be about right I think. I would LOVE Ngata !!!DE- Hali / Kiwanuka / WimbleyI honestly think at least one if not two might be there at #24, but those are the names consistently looked at around #15.CB- Hill / WilliamsI personally think Hill is undersized and doesn't have the best hands and Williams seems an attitude risk to give up picks for. I think with Cromartie possibly being there at #24, I'd stay put.LB- Ernie Simms / GreenwayIf the Bengals want further production at LB, these would be the two names, but I can't see a trade "up" to get a LB.TE- Vernon DavisDoes he fall to around #15 ?? I think not, but if he should happen to fall to anywhere close, I think the Bengals would be calling REAL QUICK !!!Overall, I think there is far more to gain by keeping as many picks as possible and addressing the defense as well as the possibility of a TE on day one, but you never know where this might go or if there could be a player involved that would benefit one of the teams sitting around the 15th pick. God, I love the anticipation and build up to the draft !!!WHODEY !!!

Once in a while, he will go out on a pattern, and then you ignore him and just let the safety tackle him when he can.
