BlackJesus Posted March 27, 2006 Report Posted March 27, 2006 Per Bengals.com on 3/27 Plus, the agent for defensive tackles Sam Adams and Grady Jacksonsaid the Bengals would like to get one of them.....Angelo Wright, the agent for Adams and Jackson, said the Bengals have told him they'd like to get either one or the other Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted March 27, 2006 Report Posted March 27, 2006 While you are at it, add an option to pick neither of these tubby lazy dudes. We know you think Sam Adams and Arrington are coming to Cincy BJ, but I think we have enough threads about this already.l Quote
redsbengalsbucks Posted March 27, 2006 Report Posted March 27, 2006 That's a disgusting thought. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted March 27, 2006 Report Posted March 27, 2006 I think the question is IF you HAD to pick ONE of these two, which one would you pick ??I really wouldn't care to tell you the truth, as long as we got another prospect in the draft...WHODEY !!! Quote

There doesn't seem like there are many around here that want to see an inprovement. Neither guy is going to be overly expensive and they've both proven that they can do the job. We're not gonna get a perennial pro-bowl appearance outta either one of these guys, but they will be able to do what no d-lineman has done around here in a long time. Clog up the middle and free up the LB's. Isn't that what everyone has been wanting? It's a good thing that we all do whatever it is we all do for a living instead of NFL GM's. If some of the people on here ran our team, we'd be cellar dwellers for another 15 years! Quote

I want to see us continue to build via the draft. I want to see us shore up the safety position this season, because it's there in droves where we pick. I want to see us shore up the DT and DE postions in the draft and shoot the dice hoping to find another guy who can get it done. Then I want to see us concentrate next year on getting the best damned defensive linemen we can in the draft when the crop should be better than this year. Quote
Whur CHad At? Posted March 27, 2006 Report Posted March 27, 2006 Wow, you wanted Maake Kemoeatu, thats a shock. I thought he would be to fat and lazy for you. Quote
HairOnFire Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 I've always like Grady. Seriously, he was great on "Chico and the Man" "Put out your cans...here comes the garbage man." I voted for beerbelly #2. Quote

Kazkal Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 If we sign em we need cut JT to make up or Brob Quote
HoosierCat Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 The trouble I have with Sam or Grady is that it's like trying to patch a five-foot hole in your wall (you know, the one about the size you made when you threw your TV set through the wall after Kimo took out Carson) with a roll of Wall Spam and a couple cans of spackling paste. We need a new piece of sheetrock. lando griffin Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 Honestly, I don't think either will be too much money....I agree they're almost over the hill, but they still have a bit to help us out this year and the next while we HOPEFULLY have a newly drafted DT to groom, or Askew comes out of his coma. I wouldn't mind Jackson or Adams getting medocre money and one or the other put in a rotation with Shaun Smith. Everyone on here seems to agree Smith was alright during the year but seemed to get tired through the course of a game. Problem solved...temporarily...and yes, please get rid of BRob or JT or both Quote
Whur CHad At? Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 Grady wants 3 yr $12 mill. We can certainly do that!! Quote

No, I don't think either of them are likely to improve over Brian Robinson and Shaun Smith.Besides, that is far less the point than value for money spent. If you own a Kia, a Volkswagon is an upgrade. But not at BMW prices.... Quote

Spain Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 The real ? is how will this play out? Like peterson and arrington. One big winner one big loser. Arrington turned seattle down. Peterson cashed in. Which one of these guys will go lower? You gotta love having to players bidding against themselves. One goes to a superbowl contender and one to gets more money and burried on some also ran. Which one of these guy will bite first? Quote

HairOnFire Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 Grady wants 3 yr $12 mill. We can certainly do that!! I'd like to withdraw my vote for Grady. Simply put, he wasn't THAT good in "Chico and the Man" and he's not worth that type of coin. In fact, no fat bastidge is. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted March 28, 2006 Report Posted March 28, 2006 According to the new article on Bengals.com, Marvin is ok with our "light" tackles and is happy with the fact they practice hard and show to play on Sunday... Note to Marvin, I can practice hard and show up to play on Sunday as well, but just like our current DT situation, I'll get ran the F*CK over just like they do... I'm just getting irritated with the whole front 4 and the teams inability to address it. If Bryan Robinson is what they think addressing the D-line is, then I give up on the whole thing !!! I'll go on record to just HATE how they deal with the front 4 and totally disagree with the organizations philosophy, but will deal with whatever happens. Oh well, here's to hoping they do better next year, I doubt it !!!WHODEY !!! Quote
