(March 24, 2006) -- One good offer sheet deserves another.

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Pick the phrase that applies; many do.

The Seattle Seahawks signed Minnesota's restricted free-agent wide receiver Nate Burleson to a seven-year, $49 million offer sheet -- the same terms that the Vikings used in their offer sheet for former Seahawks and current Vikings guard Steve Hutchinson. It is a backloaded deal, with the numbers drummed up, but it still is the familiar seven-year, $49 million deal.

The Vikings will have seven days to match the offer sheet and if they opt against it, Seattle will have to compensate Minnesota with its third-round pick.

The Seahawks have been in search of another receiver ever since they lost Joe Jurevicius to Cleveland's four-year, $10 million deal. Burleson would be a nice fit. After lighting it up in 2004, when he caught 68 passes for 1,006 yards and nine touchdowns, Burleson's production dropped off last season, when he caught only 30 passes for 328 yards and one touchdown.

Still, Seattle saw enough talent that it decided to make Burelson its property. The Vikings might not appreciate it, but Seahawks fans surely do.

Yeah this opened my eyes. I like Burleson - mainly for being an awesome fantasy player for me in 2004. I think he's a decent receiver and a good fit there but that's a way overpayment. Especially considering last years numbers.

He only got a 5million signing bonus he'll re do his contract or be cut @ the end of it

This is getting out of hand .....this was their poison seed

If Burleson plays at least five games in the state of Minnesota or if his annual salary average is more than the average of his team's highest-paid running back, then the entire $49 million would be guaranteed.
