BengalszoneBilly
Is he NUTS!?! They can prove these things in a heartbeat! They said as much, and are ready to do so IN COURT! Damn Barry, you are an idiot! So are your attorneys! Nothing like keeping it on the "down-low" eh?
bengalboomer7
If I've learned something, it's never bet against an athlete or famous person in a court of law. Money wins out every time and Barry has more. It's not like the truth really matters in these types of things.
ArmyBengal
What else can his dumb*ss do ?? Wait for someone else to drag HIM into court... I really hate hearing about him. It's like the constant talk of him and T.O. I say F*CK both of them...WHODEY !!!

semiotter
You know its not really fair that the news media keeps picking on Barry. Its not like he is the only one that has done this. But he has really brought this on himself by being such a jerk. If he would of handled this better it would not be so hard on the guy. But ive never cared much for him myself either. This is a "witch hunt", I don't care what anyone says. If he were a nice guy, this wouldn't be a big deal. Just some writers wanting to crucify a guy that won't talk to them.Forgive me if I'm wrong, but don't you have to fail a drug test before baseball can do anything about this? B24
Thank you. I've been screaming this for weeks(see other Bonds threads) with no one to back me.I'll back you on it. I'm just really getting tired of this story. I don't care if he used steriods. I will go on not caring until writers start going back to investigate everyone that may have used steriods. Not just the players they don't like.
Kirkendall
Wait a second!Isn't Barry the one that crucified himself? Why is the media getting blamed on this one? Aren't the co-authors using grand jury testimony? Most leading lawyer analysts believe Bond's lawyers really have nothing to go on to win this court case.BTW, there's a second book coming out. Isn't two times a trend? Although, I think I'm in a different boat than most of you guys. I still love baseball and have admitted it countless times. So maybe that's why I'm hatin' on Bonds so much. I'm happy Bonds is getting busted on this and I hope the toolbox gets the Pete Rose penalty.
BengalszoneBilly
I'm happy Bonds is getting busted on this and I hope the toolbox gets the Pete Rose penalty. So Barry's gonna get f**ked in the a$$ for doing something that didn't harm the game in any way whatsoever, on top of getting f**ked in the a$$ for doing the steroids that did do harm to the game!?! Barry! Your double order of "Brutal Unrequested Anal Intrusion - Hold The Reach Around," is ready for pickup!
B24
Wait a second!Isn't Barry the one that crucified himself? Why is the media getting blamed on this one?Where was the media during the McGuire/Soso homerun race? They were having a lovefest with them. The media picks and choses who they go after. McGuire and Sosa were likable, Bonds isn't. If the media loved Barry, this wouldn't have been as big of a story. As I said I don't care if he did or not. Nobody seemed to care when the McGuire/Sosa homerun race was helping bring back baseball.

Nobody seemed to care when the McGuire/Sosa home run race was helping bring back baseball.Good point.I believe the reason for that disparity is the fact that the Mark and Sammy home run race happened in the year 1998 BB. (Before Balco) Before the Balco story broke, the issue of steroids wasn't yet as in the forefront of baseball fans consciousness as it is now. At least it seemed that way for me. In '98, steroid use by players was for the largest part unsubstatiated second hand rumors. Balco's demise made those rumors quite believeable, if not completely substantiated! I mean after reading those facts in that article, how can you not feel that those players knew EXACTLY what they were doing, and more importantly, what they were doing was not right. Why else would the lies and denials have started immediately? Any answers to that?
bengalboomer7
I disagree Billy, there have been quiet rumblings about steroids since the early 90's. But Balco did bring it up close.See, I blame the owners, MLB personel, and the Commish. You can't tell me they didn't know, yet because baseball started booming everyone chose to ride the steroid wave of money.During this time, the commish was an owner(although his teams needed steroids) and another guy that just now happens to be the President of our country.I equate this as something like an older guy doing something drastic at work to avoid being forced into early retirement, or fearing getting replaced by someone younger. Just saving their livelhoods.
BengalszoneBilly
I disagree Billy, there have been quiet rumblings about steroids since the early 90's. But Balco did bring it up close.I was speaking strictly from my point of view there Boomer. Like most fans, I suspected/knew that Markie Mark McGuire may have been hanging out at the juice bar after practice, but I never suspected Sammy Sosa. Maybe it was due to the Pepsi commercials he was doing with Junior at the time. The first documented case in MLB history of "Innocence by Association" that I ever handed out. "Guilt by Association?" More than you could ever count. See, I equate this as something like an older guy doing something drastic at work to avoid being forced into early retirement, or fearing getting replaced by someone younger. Just saving their livelhoods.Did someone point out my 48th birthday is in 19 days, or did you just pull that anology out of thin air?
