BlainThePain
http://www.nfl.com/draft/analysis/individual_workoutsBrodrick Bunkley DL Bunkley (6-2 5/8, 304) ran 4.16 in the short shuttle and 7.33 in the cone drill. He did everything else at the Combine. That is DB fast right there. I'm starting to think we need to trade up for him. Marvin values the short shuttle a lot more than the 40, too. Here is the rest of Florida State's pro day.The players ran outside on FieldTurf under very good weather conditions. All 32 teams were represented, which included Tom Coughlin, Jim Haslett and a lot of position coaches. Player Position Gil's comments Antonio Cromartie DB Cromartie (6-2¼, 203) ran 4.39 and 4.37 in the 40, 3.89 in the short shuttle and 7.03 in the three-cone drill. He also had a 32-inch vertical jump. Ernie Sims LB Sims (5-11¼, 234) ran the 40s in 4.55 and 4.48 seconds. Kamerion Wimbley DE Wimbley did only the short shuttle (4.42) and kept his numbers from the Combine. Leon Washington RB Washington (5-7 5/8, 204) did everything at the Combine. A.J. Nicholson LB Nicholson (6-0 7/8, 242) ran the 40s in 4.74 and 4.75. He also clocked 4.54 in the short shuttle and 7.34 in the cone drill, did 25 lifts and had a 9-foot-10 long jump. Willie Reid WR Reid, did everything at the Combine, but looked very good in the workouts. He returned three punts for TDs last season. HoosierCat
Bunkley would be nice, but there is no longer even a snowball's chance in hell that he falls to 24. He might even creep into the top 10. Yahoo's Robinson says today that even if he falls out of that group he won't get past the Browns:After Thursday's pro day elevated the stock of cornerback Antonio Cromartie, FSU could be looking at another quartet of first-round picks – Cromartie, linebacker Ernie Sims, defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley and hybrid defensive end/linebacker Kamerion Wimbley. Such a promising batch stimulated a massive turnout, with every team in the NFL being represented by over 100 scouts, coaches and personnel men. Five head coaches made appearances, including the New York Giants' Tom Coughlin, Scott Linehan of the St. Louis Rams, Lovie Smith of the Chicago Bears, Sean Payton of the New Orleans Saints and Romeo Crennel of the Cleveland Browns, who also sent general manager Phil Savage.According to one personnel source on hand for the workouts, the Browns' full-blown representation was no accident."They (want) Bunkley," he said, referring to Cleveland's 12th overall pick. "If he's still on the board, he's their end (in the 3-4 scheme). If he's still on the board. I wouldn't be all that shocked if he came off earlier." eclipse99t
Haha, if the Browns pass on Ngata, there is no way he gets past KC, Denver, or Baltimore. We got no chance unless we trade up.

HoosierCat
Right now, unless he unexpectedly goes higher, I'd bet on TE Leonard Pope in the 1st. With Schobel and Walter gone (and Henry a ???) our need for a "complete TE" has only grown. It isn't a choice I'm particularly thrilled with, but it's starting to look inevitable to me. Fortunately, there should be a good DT left when we pick in round 2...maybe even Wright or Watson.

Pope won't hurt my feelings, but I'll hold on to the concept of hoping someone falls that we don't expect or trading down for extra picks maybe...WHODEY !!! thepudgester
Cromartie was never an elite college player, nor was he even ever a full time starter. The guy has 41 career tackles... No Cromartie in the 1st. Way too much of a risk.

Its a loss of too much firepower without replenishing some and Pope could come in and start and take up a lot of slack immediately. I think if he is there its a done deal. No Cromartie in the 1st. Way too much of a risk. Say what you will, but Cromartie more than likely would have been a top 10 pick had he not been hurt. After the ACL injury he still comes back to run a 4.36 with a 41in vertical ?? Come on dude, that is just sick after an injury like that, which goes to his work ethic and athletic ability. Now I'm not saying we need to take the guy in the first, but it wouldn't bother me all that much and I do know he won't be there when we pick in the 2nd. His pro-day assured him of no later than the top of the 2nd IMO.WHODEY !!!

schweinhart
Heard it was 42 on the TV but read it was 32. Probably a typo. Can't imagine that kind of discrepancy. If the Bengals do consider Cromartie, there's a couple things they'd have to work out with him. He overloads his moves and will have to be taught better body control so he doesn't take himself out of position or unecessarily subject himself to injury. Also, experience is an issue but with the most likely 6 years as a 1st round pick, he'll have plenty of time to be brought up to speed if he's at all teachable. But he's leaving little doubt that he's a 1st rounder after 20 and looks more built now than he did when he played. ArmyBengal
Yep, I've heard conflicting stories as well. Sorry if I added to the confusion, just going on what's out there. Still think he's going in the 1st...WHODEY !!!
kingwilly
I'm liking how Cromartie has rebounded....a real option for us...would immediately be our nickel guy. Imagine a Tory Deltha Anotnio CB package with D-Jack and Madieu...that is sick. That is enough to slap the smile off of Hine's face...
