It undeniably has a very deep and rich history. From the early tales of the ancient Phoenicians and Carthaginians, to the following Visigoths, the invasion by Roman forces...it totally explains why the Spanish landscape often has a warlike appearance. Any knoll, any mountain pass, any meadow, was a good place to build a fortress-castle. the country known as Spain, although officially a part of Europe, is the most un-European country of your continent, and I find incredibly interesting!
