Stripes
Perhaps grab some defense... Maybe Mario Williams now that they've lost Darren Howard? Ngata? Hawk? I could see any of them going to the Saints.
thepudgester
I think they are thinking about taking D'Brickshaw Ferguson at #2, he or A.J. Hawk. An odd move for them considering Leinart's likely availablity, I guess that means they want to win now.
NJ29
I don't like the move, but the rumor is that they are considering Mario Williams.
Kazkal
always could grab TO and then draft vernon davis then they'd have decent O well d'brick would be nice for their line
BlainThePain
I wouldn't be surprised if Vernon Davis jumped up to number 2 now.

I could see any of them going to the Saints.Howard leaving won't effect them because he lost his job to Will Smith. I would think they would take Hawk they have 2 good DE's already. There LBers suck. schweinhart
It would make sense for them to trade down to Oakland for the Raiders to get their pick of QB.If no trade, D'Brick would seem hardest for them to pass on even though Mario, Hawk and Vernon Davis are all big freaks. The Saints will want the best they can get to protect the blind side of their new franchise QB.

GROIIIDayton
I think they will trade down no futher than 7 and take the best play left. I could see them wanting Vernon Davis with Brees because he wasn't good until he had that weapon. Right now they are going to say that anything is still possible to get someone to trade with them. ArmyBengal
They have no need for Davis. If they stay at #2, the pick is D'Brick to give Brees the extra protection. Depending on how far they trade down will depend on who they pick, but I as well as the majority of Saints fans think it has to address their HORRIBLE run defense and their lack of anything in the middle. Trade down = either A.J. Hawk or Ngata... Not to mention they have no 3rd this year, so they will be getting some more picks...WHODEY !!! schweinhart
The NFL Network's Adam Schlepper is guessing the Saints trade down with the Jets, but it seems like the Jets would stay put and let a QB fall to them at #4. But then again if they think the Raiders will trade up to the Saints for a QB, it could force the Jets hand. A lot of this depends on what the teams involved in the first 5 picks think Vince Young is a franchise QB.
Stripes
I like the possibility of them trading down and then grabbing Davis. I for one expect Brees to be a complete flop in New Orleans, but a tight end threat like he had in Gates could do him a lot of good. The same could be said for D'Brick on that bad line. Whur CHad At?
I don't like the move, but the rumor is that they are considering Mario Williams. Why would they draft Mario? That doesn't make any sense...they have Charles Grant and Will Smith, and both of them are studs. Wouldn't make much sense unless they had him play LB, but I don't see that happening any time soon. Jet23
I think they will trade down. They need a ton of help. Hey, maybe Mike will blow our socks off by trading up. Long shot I know, but A.J. or Vernon sure would look good in stripes.

kingwilly
Here's how I see it:They keep the pick (less likely) and take..M. Williams...he is a monster but their DE situation does not warrant taking him.AJ Hawk..this makes alot of sense as their LB corp is weak, I heard they had brought in Hardy for a look..yikes.V. Davis...I'd consider this likely, should they keep the pick...Brees to Davis could be heard on ESPN for many years.D'Brick...a bit more conservative, less flashy for the spot...but a smart football move. They have some holes on the line (no LeCenter) so bolstering it makes sense.<OR>They trade the pick to the J-E-T-S (only team that makes sense as they want Leinart...and so does Tenny) and take...Any of the above but one....so, the next question is, who of the above players, would Tennessee take?I'd venture that Tenny would take Mario...so then, that leaves...Davis, D'Brick and Hawk...Of those I think NO takes D'Brick...to protect Brees..as there is very good value in r2 thye'd use the oick they'd have picked up in the trade....Interesting here is the J-E-T-S possibility to bndle Abraham in the trade...then getting D'Brick...Abraham...and good value for thier r2 and r3...at LB and TE.thoughts? Kazkal
IMO Jets should sit preatty with 4 @ take leinhart if saints lot intrest in leinhart theyll for sure get top 2 qb
schweinhart
IMO Jets should sit preatty with 4 @ take leinhart if saints lot intrest in leinhart theyll for sure get top 2 qbFrom what I gather of this, I'd agree. The Jets would be looking at giving up a 2nd and 3rd in this year's draft to trade up. Even though they gain at least a 2nd rounder by peddling J-Abe, still a lot to give up when just waiting should get them one of the top 2 QBs. But Uncle Al out in Oakland may be the fly in the ointment for them.
Kazkal
Worst case jets take D'brick or Young if the raiders traded up but raiders should sit preatty too and just take youngI now know why redskins always trade away their picks they dont need em when they bring in all these free agents o_O

ArmyBengal
If they stay = D'BrickIf they trade down = Hawk / NgataNo need for Super Mario as they have two stud 1st round DE's (why do you think Howard was let go?) Their run defense was freaking horrible, so look for them to shore that up if they trade down and go o-line in the second round...WHODEY !!!
