TJJackson
Before the combine, in v1 of my choices, I had Vernon Davis listed as my choiceNow that everyone knows he is the freak I already knew him to be...alas, there is no chance he will fall to us at 24. Be advised that if he'd fall to 24 for some unknown reason shy of he got run over by a truck the night before the draft....I'd still want him at 24. Important note: I don't like any of the top rated DTs, albeit Bunkley would be my current fave if I was forced to name one. In any case, they drop out of day 1 consideration for me -- and this makes it all the more important from my point of view that the Bengals sign a better than average DT (other than the fat, overrated, overpriced Sam Adams) in FA. TJJackson
I should add that I take the following as assumed1) we lose Schobel and Stewart2) we sign an experienced #2 QB3) we sign an experienced TE (better blocker than receiver)
kingwilly
I like it...How does losing Walter and adding D-Jack impact this mock?my take...r1 I'd be good with your picks though I think Scott is reach for r1 and a CB like Cromartie would be another good consideration.r2...Watkins is a reach here...a TE like Byrd or Klop could substitute. If Allen is there, we'd have to take him. Allen is a warrior.r3...Henderson here is a bit high...he would be here as lat as r5. Fasano is good value...r4.. Adeyanju would be a stel in late r4...I'll take him...Blackmon and WHitworth are good value also....maybe a QB depending on who they sign...might I suggest Drew Olsen or IngleMartin?r5 Maxey would be my choice, if he's still there...kind of a grab bag at this point.r6...I'd refer not take two TE's...we should target depth for the OL and DL.r7...another WR late would make sense also

Stripes
I like the primary choices. Your day one picks would be acceptable, but I'm not sure we'll go with two defensive backs in the first two rounds... Williams may also be off the board.Your 7th round pick puts a smile on my face! TJJackson
*shrug* I see us as needing a new safety and a new corner, and I don't like any of the DLs until r3, and I generally don't like a linebacker high. So for me, day 1 is two DBs and a TE.Like I said earlier, so many players are rising up the boards that someone is getting pushed down. Not because they aren't as good as they were rated a month ago, but rather because the pure mathematics dictates that someone HAS to fall. I am pegging Jimmy Williams as that player at this time, and he'd be an EXCELLENT pick not only for need but for value at 24, imhoBecause the Bengals went to see Bullocks at his pro day, I probably need to add him to the list no lower than r3. kingwilly
Truth is, I'd be way jazzed if your first option guys get grabbed...I'd prefer a different TE, but if we could get Williams and Allen in r1/r2 I'd live with Fasanoin r3!The rest looks good as I detaield above....real nice, lots of super-value guys....here's to hoping it plays out like that! Whur CHad At?
Leonard Pope cuz the guy is a stud, and is a good redzone target
TJJackson
err...was asking Kingwilly, but your input is valued as well....then again, I am asking in essence who do you swap out with Fasano in r3....don't think Pope will fall to r3 :-)as an aside, I've mentioned Pope isn't on my radar because he lacks blocking ability I see as essential
kingwilly
I think Klop is the better player...should we have the luxury of choosing either in r3...Watkins may be there in the 3rd...whihc coud open r2 up for a TE...I'd acutally prefer Allen in r2 should he be there...and then grab Klop/Fasano in r3. Whur CHad At?
According to Georgia people, Pope's blocking skills are fine and can get better with coaching. That is why we will take him, he is damn well better than Fasano.I want a stud, playmaker, and big guy that can help stretch the field. Not just an average blocking TE.
