BlackJesus
DT Sam Adams, OLB Lavar Arrington, and DB Charles Woodson are just what this team and defense needs ....- Sam Adams is the whole pluging DT who can spend a few years grooming the others and he has already thrived and won a Superbowl under Marvin in Baltimore. Plus Sam Adams already called Willie and has said he wants to be reunited with Marvin. - Lavar Arrington is the amazing talent that has the potential to be the best OLB in the game, and has already played under Marvin in Washington. Plus sources are reporting the Bengals are interested. - Charles Woodson is an amazing talent who could move to Free Saftey and he has already thrived under Chuck Bresnahan in Oakland. I think that with the 10 + million in Cap room and the extra money garnered by releasing Clemons (1.3 mil), Thornton (would save 2 mil), Herring and Simmons (would save a few mil) that the plan is doable ..... and would firmly mean that Cincy is making a run for the Superbowl now ..... as for the OL contracts .... I think you might be able to resign Eric and Bobbie and then push the two tackles into the upcoming season where you resign one and let the other walk with Stacy as his replacement. So Whadda ya say ?
derekshank
I say pass on Arrington. All he can do is blitz... and Pollack does that without being a problem in the locker room.I'd hate to get another Michigan Alum... and Woodson is likely to cost mega-millons. Have you seen the kinds of money marginal players are making? A big-time stud CB is going to be insane.Sam Adams? Yeah, sure. If he wants to come here to be re-united with Marvin.... I'll take him. He won't make a ton of cash the way the other D-linemen are getting right now in FA though... so as long as he's okay with that, I am. My guess is we'll see all 3 of these guys end up somewhere else with inflated contracts thanks to the new cap.

CPalmer9
The day that we sign all three of those FA, (Woodson, Arrington, Adams), is the same day that Adam Dunn doesnt strike out. There is no way in the world that the Bengals will bring all three of them in plus I dont really want either one of them but thats beside the point. These young guys are getting fat contracts, and the old guys are getting their big pay too. So no matter what your going to have to fork over some cash. schroomytunes
I agree I really think that with Cleveland's moves today addressing their offensive line, we need to answer that, if not we will lose at the line of scrimmage. From all the sources I've been reading it says were @17 million under the cap with clemons release. So here is my proposal as to what needs to be addressed. First up:Free Agents:1)Sage Rosenfels-He's young and has limited success in the league so far, and would serve as a viable backup to Palmer.2)Sam Adams- He's a little old but he's the plugger in the middle who will take a double team and he will probably sign here under market value.3)Dexter Jackson-Good strong hitter in the secondary who will secure the outfield with Madieu and allow us to blitz more on the outside.4)Kalimba Edwards-quick guy off the edge a bit of a sleeper in Detroit, but has good size 6'6 265 to put pressure on the pocket.Contract Extentions:1)Resign Bobbie Williams and Eric Steinbach they fit better in the salary capSalary Cap Cuts:1) John Thornton-2 million savings dosn't match up against o-lines in AFC North2) Kim Herring-700k savings, not much production since being signed but better prospects in draft.---total =2.7 million which equals @Dexter Jackson's contract.Trades: 1) See if SF would swap spots in the 4th this year for Kelly Washington, that way we move up @ 22 spots in the 4th round, and thay get their Wr to replace Lloyd. It would be like having 2 3rd round picks for us.Draft:1)Marcus McNeill-(OT Auburn) he more than likely replaces one of our tackles in 072)Jesse Mahalona-(DT Tennessee) he adds to our DL rotation3)Greg Blue-(SS Georgia) adds a solid backup to the mix3)from SF-(TE-Joel Klopfenstein) poss. starter/backup this year.Thoughts? HoTbOy
Why hasn't Adams signed with Miami if they had the hots for him like he says, or any other team...you know why because he is coming to Cincy, after they sign a QB, somewhere down the line you are going to see an Adams signing you have not heard anything about him lowkey now like the Bengals I just hope Marvin can motivate him again...Woodson too brittle, and Arrington nope... bengalindian
Ryan Pickett, Dexter Jackson, and LaVarr Arrington make up my 3-way. With Pickett and Askew inside, the Bengals would have the versatile backers to be able to switch back and forth between a 4-3 and 3-4. Plus, they would have a Super Bowl MVP safety to help the secondary immensely.
ArmyBengal
Holy crap, amazing how FA changes the thought process of the fans. Now we have to keep up with the Browns moves ?? Well good luck with that seeing as they are like 25mil under the cap. Shore up our defense and let the rest play out. What did I say about Cleveland and coach Crennel ?? Ratbirds in the cellar in 2006...Oh yeah, Boller still sucks monkey balls...WHODEY !!!

HairOnFire
I think it's from the green chili & hot pepper omelete I just ate. Something tells me that's a meal that's going to stick wih me all day. In short, Arrington isn't a player I lust after, but of the three mentioned he's the one that chubs me the most. Stripes
I don't want any of the three. Adams would be acceptable I suppose, but I'd probably be far more annoyed by signing these three (never in a million years) than I would be pleased. andybren
Adams might be had for a good price. And Marvin has shown good discipline in this area. The other two...never gonna happen. Thank God.
