First of all, screw maddox...I'd rather have krenzel start.

Brooks is the most PERFECT fit, of all the available options, moreso than McCown....and no comparison to Blake.

Better arm.

Better athleticism.

More experience (including playoffs).

Better, more consistent starter...except for 2005... losing McCallister and having Katrina hit...who can blame them?

He is really only like Blake in that Blake had a very good arm, too. Blake had maybe 2-3 decent years...is barley 6' and is injury prone and had a poor attitude.

Brooks will be in a situation where he needs to re-gain confidence and have the option to go elsewhere after 2006. He only needs to start 3-5 games for the bengals, and be a far better back-up the other 11-13 games than Kitna. He ran a very vertical system under Haslett...plenty of juice on the 111 TD's he delivered since 2001.

Can't say as I like Brooks and can't say as we could throw money at him to come here for one season in the hopes of showing himself off for a future job, but then again, I may be wrong.

Just put me in the camp of not wanting ANY of the QB's out there. Carson, please hurry the hell up and get better !!!

You just want the best possible QB for however many games they need him.

I'm thinking Brooks will want to be somewhere he has the best chance to fight for a starting job. But I would welcome him here for 2-6 games. Over a full season he tends to show his warts eventually, but he'd be an ideal backup QB somewhere, can put points on the board if he has talent around him.
