HoosierCat
found this on kffl tonight...Dolphins | Team interested in WhitehurstMon, 20 Feb 2006 21:24:11 -0800Jason Cole, of the Miami Herald, reports the Miami Dolphins are interested in drafting Clemson QB Charlie Whitehurst. The team is very interested in Vanderbilt QB Jay Cutler, but expects him to be drafted too high in the first round for them. The team currently holds the No. 16 overall pick. Whitehurst is not considered as strong a prospect as Cutler, which has caused the team to consider looking at veteran quarterbacks.Wow...Whitehurst at 16 would be a bit of a reach IMHO... kingwilly
Big reach. I think Omar Jacobs will be better NFL QB than Whitehurst. Sounds like they would trade down...but that begs the question as to why they'd pass up the Defensive talent available at 16....Miami sucks... HoosierCat
I suspect the message here is just that Miami (read: Saban) is seriously horny for a QB. Given the talk that the Titans will take Young, I would make a call re: Volek if I were him...
kingwilly
..or Brees. I think Volek has the AJ feeley syndrome....as in lucky but not so good for a long haul answer. If I were to go after any of the back-ups, Schaub would top my list. I'd give a r2 pick for Schaub...If Brees can get his arm together, he will land somewhere and could start. ArmyBengal
Whitewho ?? There's no way this kid goes at #16. I will laugh my a$$ off if the Dolphins manage to screw up their draft that bad. I hope they understand the concept of trading down if they truly want this kid. Brees would be a good fit in Miami in my opinion, but being $5mil over the cap doesn't help matters either. Whitehurst.... WHODEY !!! kentjett
Omar Jacobs is underrated. He was a force his sophmore year but got injured his junior year and never got a chance to put up the same kind of numbers. He has a better arm then Vince Young and he is pretty fast and elusive. He could end up being a first round draft pick after the combine is done and over with.
Kazkal
He's like culpeppar but even more mobile. and he did his 41-4 with out randy moss heh
thepudgester
They are probably thinking Whitehurst in the second. in my opinion, that'd be a good pickup, the kid's got big time potential.
TJJackson
It'd be a good thing if another QB slips into the top 23 picks in the draft, as that will mean yet another quality defender or TE will slip to us :-)Let's hope this does indeed happen :-)
Whur CHad At?
Charlie Whitehurst is god awful...ughOmar Jacobs is def. the most underrated in the Draft by far.

We want as many teams as possible going for QB's, RB's, OL, and LB's. That leaves us more to choose from in the areas that we need.
