HairOnFire Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 There's a snippet on the official website stating that the Bengals just signed Kyle Larson to a 1-year deal. Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 Yup. Seems he had a pretty good year, despite all the whining about him. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 This is one of those guys, that I do like. I think he had a pretty off season or least inconsistent, but love the potential he possesses. He's got one huge leg and if he gets coached up and is more consistent, he's gold in the field position game. I'm happy with this...WHODEY !!! Quote
Whur CHad At? Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 Was it a 6 year $90 million contract?!?!?! Quote
Stripes Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 I like this move too. He can only improve his consistency after last year (rock bottom) and that leg is too big to ignore. Quote
AMC Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 Ehhhhh....he'll have competition in Training Camp, as well he should... Quote
HoosierCat Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 Was it a 6 year $90 million contract?!?!?!It was his RFA tender, I'm sure. Don't know offhand what the basic tender amount for a punter is, probably something in the $400-500k range. Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 Ehhhhh....he'll have competition in Training Camp, as well he should...Probably. I'm sure they will pick some scrub who will end up in the CFL at best after the draft is over and done. Quote
CantStop85 Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 At least we didn't end up with Kyle Richardson, the latest and greatest Brownie. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 At least we didn't end up with Kyle Richardson, the latest and greatest Brownie. I was waiting for someone to bring up his name seeing as how the Browns are going to let him test the free agent market. I agree though, the hell with Kyle !!!WHODEY !!! Quote
Whur CHad At? Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 Doug Flutie anybody?? I know he can drop kick field goals, so I am sure he can do Punts as well Quote
schweinhart Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 Yeah but can Flutie snag the snap and hold a FG like Larson can.Plus, Flutie could scramble and all but Kyle Larson running the ball off a fake FG was like watching old tape of Paul Hornung. Quote
jjakq27 Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 A couple of interesting stats from Mr. Larson last year that were not so obvious. His 43.2-yard average and 35.6-yard net average were both team bests since 1998.He also set a team record 75-yard punt against Jacksonville. The funny thing is that most people either remember the Reggie Myles illegal touching on the first punt or the blocked punt later in the game. http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art.../302210013/1066 Quote

There, he's a human touchback. Quote
