Steel Legends
Honestly, when I hear complaining about the refs and this and that, I just laugh because if the shoe was on the other foot and, say for example, the Bengals finally won a Lombardi, would anyone here really be complaining? We won 3 straight road playoff games, and the refs tried to take the Indy game away from us, and as Bill Cowher told the team on the sidelines, "Whatever happens here, good or bad, don't let this outcome affect your play." Lo and behold, we didn't allow that bad call determine our destiny and I'm very glad about that...Also, the Hawks had many chances; 2 missed field goals, INTs by Hasselbeck, Jeremy Stevens dropping easy catches, etc. Nobody really wants to remember all of the chances that squadered away.Steelers had a great ride through out the playoffs and they didn't play a great football game in the Super Bowl, however, they played well enough to win and the Lombardi came home. Our team has won a total of 5 Lombardi trophies and with Ben at the helm, along with Hines Ward, Heath Miller, Ced Wilson, Fast Willie the great defense, including, Joey Porter, Troy Polamalu, Ike Taylor, and so many more, we can easily win many more.I'm looking forward to our meetings again in the 2006 season. They should be even more interesting in light of our last playoff meeting.Have a great off-season fellow Bengal fans!

You can imagine the "what could have been" stuff running through our brains. Hopefully we'll have Palmer back in time for both Steelers games, and we can enjoy more faceoffs between two of the best three quarterbacks in the NFL. Peyton isn't on that list. Ox
What's gotten into you Steel? I tried to find sarcasm in your post, but failed. I am very impressed with you sir. Hopefully our teams will not play the opener, so that way Palmer can be at full speed when the worlds collide.
Steel Legends
Ox, I have a lot of respect for most of you here, with the exception of the classless Indy fan (I just laughed at him). I've been here for a few years now and this place is full of so many great fans. The best Bengals site on the web.I just love our rivalry now. It use to be the Ravens and they are now terrible and the same goes for the Clowns and their miserable fans.Bengals and Steelers could be the talk of the NFL for years to come, if you guys can come back and have another good year. If you guys can sign at least 3 of 5 of your offensive linemen, have another great draft, and have Marv continues teaching and coaching in the same way that he has, this is going to be a good team for years to come.BTW, I love those FSU girls. bengalboomer7
I don't get it, you laugh at people complaining about the refs. would you laugh if the shoe was on the other foot?. Were you laughing when the Polalmalu INT was ruled incomplete. It's funny how when something happens for your team you can rationalize it. But when it happens TO your team, it's the end of the world (BTW< I'm don't specifically mean YOU, just generalizing.

With just over 5 mins, if I'm not mistaken, had we gotten that INT, we would of had to run out a lot of clock, so I wasn't sure how that would of changed the game. Bottom line was Cowher had the team mentally ready for the officials to screw it up and that was key. Yes, we were pissed because everyone clearly saw that it was an INT.As this relates to the Hawks, they are using it as an excuse to losing and that is where the problem exists and they aren't being accountable for their bonehead plays. First of all I will apologize to those Bengals fans and the mods on this board for playing along with some of these Steeler Trolls and giving them the spotlight, rather than our Bengals. Some of my posts were a little distasteful, but there has to come a point when smack talk is relegated to the smack forum and obviously I didn't help things by replying, rather than ignoring the thread. Say what you want about me Steel Legends, but I will say this..you seem like a respectful fan and not a troll, who is willing to talk about the game, rather than the in your face antics that some have exhibited, or those who change their names just so they can throw gas on the fire. And I simply misperceived your quote "Good Luck in the offseason", thinking it was a jab, but I apologize for my assumption. So, from here on out I will ignore the comments made by CT and others who are here just to start stuff, and just talk about Bengals football..Once again, my apologies to the board. To me too, since I'm not a troll. And BengalBoomer7, the reason the Indy game received so much scrutiny by Steelers fans is because the reverse of the INT was just plain wrong. It wasn't a true "judgment call" it was a flat out misinterpretation of the rule by the official. I never called it a conspiracy, I thought the ref was just ignorant. Comparing that call to the Madden-appointed "controversial calls" in the Super Bowl is not a fair comparison. This article pretty much sums up my thoughts:http://www.draftboardinsider.com/articles/...6-2006_mnf.html
